Is Your Back Unhappy Most of the Time? See your Chiropractor

If back pain is fast becoming a regular thing in your life, answers are needed now, rather than later.

I have had a couple of uncles who were busy all of their lives, on deck, working every day, until back pain stopped them without much warning. Back pain started increasing with them too, and soon got out of hand. Until then, I don’t think they thought much about extra weight, long hours, or demanding work situations. They just showed up and did what was needed. But when years of wear and tear working and playing caught up with them they got help and started working their way back.

A Visit to the Chiropractor’s

The initial visit includes a spinal manipulation to establish spinal health, a review of medical history and a discussion of pain and daily activities. The chiropractor’s goal is to seek pain relief and restore normal activities without medication or surgery.

For both of my uncles there was sharp pain that made daily work and tasks at home a constant challenge. But over a period of time both men worked their way through the situation with the help of their chiropractors. Both lost weight, learned how to relax more, shortened their work days, and started really looking at the challenges that they had placed on their backs.

One stopped smoking and the other started eating a better diet, skipping fast food and heavy snacks. They both learned to exercise safely, staying active, but not overdoing it. They also learned how to maintain better posture and how to safely lift large objects. Repetitive work tasks, and too many hours in the same position, along with home time slouched on the couch or hunched over screens also came up for discussion. They learned how to use good posture everywhere and keep screens at eye level. Step by step they learned ways to take care of their backs, instead of pushing them to the limit. With regular visits and ongoing wellness tips, both men regained their work schedules and their lives. One was able to head out to his favorite fishing and camping spots. The other one got back to his gardening and grandkids, hosting a whole bunch of barbecues and picnics.

If you or someone in your family is facing similar challenges with back pain, or other pain issues, see your chiropractor now.
