3 Signs It's Time to Change Your Diet
By Genevieve Cunningham
Diet is a tough concept to wrap our heads around. Sometimes it seems so complicated! Eat this, not that. Figure out how many calories you spend in a day, and then stick to a number under that. Make sure you’re getting enough of this vitamin and that nutrient. It’s a lot! And how are you supposed to know if you’re getting it right? If you’re not sure whether your diet is truly on track, take a look at these signs that you need to change your diet today.
Your Weight Won’t Drop
You’ve been working out like a beast, getting enough sleep, and cutting back on late night snacks. But your weight still won’t budge! As much as it probably hurts to hear, this probably means it’s time to reevaluate the diet. Sometimes, we consume far more calories than we realize. Are you having veggies at every meal? Are you measuring portions? Are you drinking your calories? If you’re stuck on a weight plateau, it’s probably a sign that a diet overhaul is in your near future.
Your Digestion Gives You Trouble
Everyone has digestive issues from time to time, but if you’re having problems that don’t seem to be going anywhere, it might be your diet. Eating the wrong foods can cause digestion to slow down or stall out completely. And proper digestion is crucial for cleansing the body, maintaining a healthy weight, and allowing you to feel your best. Pay attention to any major changes to your digestion as well as what you’re eating when the change happens. The bottom line? The better you eat, the more efficient your digestion will be.
You Always Feel Hungry
If you’re eating enough food, but you always feel hungry, it’s entirely possible that you’re not eating the right foods. Nutritious foods will satisfy the body and keep you from that starved feeling. If you’re experiencing hunger all day, it’s probably time to change the kinds of food in your diet. Foods high in protein, water content, and fiber will help fill you up and keep you feeling fuller longer.
Even if you think that your diet is OK, it’s possible that it’s not as great as you thought. Pay attention to any of these signs popping up in your life. If they show up, it might be time to take a better look at your diet and improve your nutrition for better health and wellness every day.
