Using Chiropractics to Treat Your Sport’s Related Injuries
Summer is almost over, but the heat is still upon us. The warm weather creates a pleasant backdrop for various outdoor activities. Children play tag, ride bikes and go swimming. Sports and activities are played by all age groups, some of which can be very strenuous, such as hiking, running, biking, soccer, football, baseball and even gardening and outdoor house work.
All of these things require your body to twist, turn and move into positions that may put stress on the body. After weeks and months of this type of activity, pain can start to develop. This can be in the neck, shoulders, back and extremities from all the physical movement. Chiropractic care can offer some relief from this pain, as well as prevent against future injury.
Since summer time warm weather causes a rise in these types of injuries, many chiropractors welcome athletes and regular active folk alike who are looking to get injuries treated or begin preventative care. Sport’s related injuries can be extremely painful, so getting them fixed up is a very pressing issue. Not only do they cause pain, but they can impact the athletic performance of the individual. This can be detrimental to an athlete’s career, especially if their range of motion is limited.
Through chiropractic treatments may be able to treat the root of the problem, instead of just masking the pain while the injury still remains. Many chiropractors reiterate to their patients how much they should focus on preventing injury in the first place, since that is the best way to avoid pain and limited mobility. However, when injured athletes do come in needing some repair, chiropractic treatments may be able to increase recovery, reducing the amount of time the individual needs to stay out of the game. Chiropractic treatments may be able to help with sprained muscles, strained muscles and pulled muscles, as well as other sport’s related injuries.
Chiropractic focuses on realigning the spine in order to enhance the performance of the nervous system. When the nervous system is operating at its optimal condition, then the body is able to heal itself. Chiropractic realigns the spine by using various hand manipulations. Proper alignment removes subluxations, or problem areas, in the spine, allowing the nervous system to flow freely throughout every part of the body. This may help athletes heal better from certain conditions and get them back to their peak performance level faster than ever.
