Spring Into Better Health With These Workouts
By Genevieve Cunningham
Spring is here and it's wonderful! The sun, the breeze, the late nights. There's nothing like soaking in the spring season. But spring isn't only for enjoyment. It's also a great time to start thinking about your health. With summer quickly on its way, we'll all be in swimsuits and tank tops very soon. And this makes the desire for better health even stronger. But how do we get there? If you're ready to get serious about your health, take a look at these ways to spring into wellness this season and next.
Pool Workouts
Why not take advantage of the warm weather by getting in the pool. Water workouts are some of the best. You can do water aerobics, water walking, or even take a swim. The water provides resistance to make it a bit harder, but the buoyancy takes the stress and strain out of it. It's a win-win. If you have access to a pool, now is a great time to get in and get moving for better health.
Nature Walks
Nature walks at this time of year are so great. It's not too hot yet, so you won't be sweating buckets in the first five minutes. But it's also warm enough to spend all day outdoors. Nature walks allow you to burn calories and work the muscles through walking, and you can also experience nature at the same time. It's another win. Just make sure that you're prepared, wear sunscreen, and let someone know where you going before venturing off too far.
Morning Yoga
Morning yoga -- or more specifically, sunrise yoga -- is hot in a lot of areas. This is often done on or near a town square, or sometimes outside of a yoga studio. Morning yoga is usually slow and peaceful, and it really awakens your body and mind at the same time as the sun awakens. It's really refreshing. If you like slow but effective, sunrise yoga is the perfect choice.
Warm weather makes working out so much more enjoyable. It's easier to get moving. It's easier to go outside. It's easier to be active. Use these workouts to enjoy the season while still moving your health forward. With some hard work, you'll be ready to enjoy the weather and your body in the coming months.
