Dr. Samantha Diehl became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s family of healthcare providers in 2014 when she began serving patients at the Shiloh, Glen Carbon and Columbia clinic locations. A graduate of Jefferson College and Logan College of Chiropractic, she earned a doctorate in chiropractic as well as a bachelor’s degree in biology.
Dr. Samantha, as she likes to be called, loves being involved in the chiropractic field.
“I love seeing people’s lives change when they feel great for the first time in a long time,” she says. “The other thing I love is working in a profession where patients are happy to see me every week.”
A product of Cedar Hill, Mo., Dr. Samantha previously worked in the Missouri cities of O’Fallon and St. Peters.
When she’s not looking after two daughters and their two bunnies, Dr. Samantha enjoys singing, painting and running.
She says she knew chiropractic was her calling when she got some awesome feedback -- but not from a patient, but his wife.
“One time a woman I had never met before came into my office to thank me for saving her marriage because I had been treating her husband and he was so much nicer to her now, like the ‘old Jim’ now that he was out of pain,” she says.
Dr. Samantha loves serving as the local chiropractor in such a military-rich region. “I like the community near Scott Air Force Base because I enjoy serving those who serve our country,” she says.

Dr. Samantha says the one thing she always keeps in her refrigerator are “cold bottles of water: A fresh start always improves my day and makes me feel better.”
If she had the opportunity to meet any four people from history, Dr. Samantha says she would love to sit down with Princess Diana, Stephen Hawking, Aristotle, and Tony Robbins.
“I aspire to live my life with the same level of class and tenacity as Princess Diana,” she says. “She was an iconic, inspirational woman who overcame adversity and social class barriers for a man she loved who she then divorced in an act of self-respect and preservation due to his infidelity and incompetence as a potential king. Despite the misdealings of the royal family on her for snubbing their beloved Prince Charles, Princess Diana refocused her heartbroken energy into healing and helping those less fortunate with an intense passion that touched the whole world.
“I would love to open a conversation between Stephen Hawking and Aristotle about new and old world science, observations and philosophies that have shaped our view of the world as we know it today. And finally, I would invite Tony Robbins because it is my life’s ambition to be a motivational public speaker to help others to reach their fullest potential to live healthy, be happy, and to help others.”
One of the most amazing experiences of her life took place in paradise. “In the same day in Hawaii, I went snorkeling at the bottom of the Captain Cook Trail, hiked up 1,300 feet, then took a bus tour to the top of Mauna Kea and star-gazed in the darkest place on the planet,” she says. “Exploring the wonders of the world and how amazing this planet is, is so cool.”
Dr. Tavernaro “Dr. Steve” received a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic - Davenport; accompanying Master of Science in Psychology. Growing up, “my parent’s utilized conservative care [chiropractic]” forming “a positive chiropractic impression as an alternative to medical intervention”. Dr. Steve is a firm believer in co-management for cases surpassing the body’s limitations however “conservative care must be a consideration for adaptive innate systems”. My first chiropractic experience surfaced in 1997 when injured on a construction site. The injury incorporated various aspects of my cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebra, to include shifting my pelvis 1.5 inches out of alignment. The chiropractic doctor opened my eyes to new methods of pain management with total body alignment. The conservative treatment approach and positive conveyance alleviated the symptoms and provided a long- term option for physical conditioning to maintain alignment. Noted takeaway from the chiropractic introduction was “increase nerve function thereby improving all body system.”
Through personal experience, Dr. Tavernaro gravitates toward patient care with an emphasis on manual adjusting, trigger point therapy, and targeted exercises addressing root of pathology. He believes chiropractic physician’s help people heal in addition to identifying and adapting the necessary tools/knowledge patients require to empower themselves; feeling even better than they did pre-injury. Dr. Steve began the study of human biomechanics through the lens of chiropractic philosophy in order to better understand the cause of pathology and biomechanical dysfunction. Dr. Tavernaro was bestowed Virgil V. Strang Chiropractic Philosophy Award June 2020, Delta Sigma Chi Outstanding Graduate and Delta Sigma Chi Fraternal Service Award(s) (2020). Dr. Tavernaro has received additional training in Blair [upper cervical technique], Atlas Orthogonal [upper cervical technique], Cox Flexion Distraction, Thompson technique, Gonstead technique, Toggle technique, Palmer package, NIMMO, Activator, and soft tissue extremities management.
Dr. Tavernaro moved back to Missouri [most recently Columbia] after serving as a DoD contractor in various locations of the United States. The last assignment in Colorado amplified a love of mountains and the outdoors. Dr. Steve often spends free time hiking, altitude SCUBA diving, skiing, hunting, and mountain biking. Most importantly, watching his children grow and equally embrace a love of learning and outdoors. Dr. Tavernaro is a current member of the International Chiropractic Association, Missouri Chiropractic Physicians Association, Delta Sigma Chi fraternal alumnus, Knights of Columbus – Sir Knight, Palmer Chiropractic College alumnus and Bricklayers and Allied Crafts Local 15 MO/KS/NE member.
Dr. Michael J. Miller joined The Joint Chiropractic’s family of healthcare providers in May 2020 at the Columbia, MO location. A graduate of University of Colorado he earned an associate’s degree in human biology and genetics and a doctorate in chiropractic at Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1984.
Dr. Mike, as he likes to be called, loves helping families through chiropractic and patient education.
“The best thing about the chiropractic field is working with patients, and providing them quality care that they need, and no one else can give them in health care today. The power of healing the body that is contained in releasing a pinched nerve is second to nothing,” he says. “The second best thing about being a chiropractor is that you almost always can help the patient feel better immediately, without drugs, therapy or surgery! Giving that sense of immediate relief to a patient carries an immense amount of satisfaction for me in helping out patients feel Awesome!.”
A product of Limon, Colorado, Dr. Mike previously worked in Hill City, Kansas, Lebanon and Springfield, Missouri.
Dr Mike is very proud of his two daughters, one who is a nurse and the other a cell biologist. He enjoys wood working, gardening, cutting grass, carpentry, and building things.
Dr. Mike states he knew chiropractic was his calling. He says, “my Mom and Dad always went to the chiropractor. I started having severe migraines when I was 11 years old. My Mom had severe migraines for years! I remember having to give my mom shots when I was a kid to help her. She went to a chiropractor 70 miles away and after several weeks, I did not have to do the shots for her since. When I started having headaches, I went immediately. It was not long when I did not have headaches anymore. After that it was not long that I realized that I was healthier than most kids in school. I did not miss school because of colds or other stuff. If I did get sick, I got adjusted and went to school the same day! So Chiropractic care helps your immune system! It was during my high school yeas that I knew I wanted to be a Doctor and Chiropractors helped thousands of people without pills, and that is what I wanted to do.”
Dr. Mike loves serving as the local chiropractor in Columbia, MO. “The thing I like best about working at this Joint in particular is that we have a good team, everyone is enjoyable to work with, experienced Doctors that can adjust people and get effective results,” he says.

If Dr Mike could have perfect dinner party with four famous people, he says, “Well the first thing I think of would be Jesus, I love, but would love to feel the type of Love that HE experienced and share that with the other 3 named herein. Donald Trump, Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey.”
One of the most amazing experiences of his life took place doing a chiropractic adjustment on a lady that was having a major anxiety attach. She was amazed it was gone after 20 seconds after adjusting her!
Dr. Janet D. Rall became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s family of healthcare providers in August 2020 when she began serving patients at the Columbia clinic. A graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College, she earned a doctorate in chiropractic as well as a bachelor’s degree in human biology.
Dr. Janet, as she likes to be called, loves being involved in the chiropractic field.
“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is helping the body heal itself,” she says. “The second best thing is helping patients get well.”
A product of Midwest Nebraska and Kansas, Dr. Janet previously worked in Junction City, Kansas, Newton, Kansas and Belton, MO.
When she’s not looking after her 2 grown children, a son-in-law, 2 granddaughters and a dog named Buddy, Dr. Janet enjoys painting, gardening, church related activities and singing.
She says she knew chiropractic was her calling when chiropractic helped her back as she was caring for a child in a body cast due to congenital hip dysplasia.
