Dr. James Rhodes joined The Joint Chiropractic family in 2014 with his arrival at the Des Peres clinic. Dr. Jim, as his patients call him, earned his doctorate from Logan College.
“One of the best things about being in the chiropractic field is that we get to improve health and life naturally,” Dr. Jim says. “Another great thing is that we get to meet and take care of awesome people.”
Dr. Jim was raised in Southern Illinois and worked in Carlyle and Glen Carbon before finding his way to Des Peres.
In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, working out, walking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
“I knew chiropractic was for me when I met a chiropractor in my hometown who was into the total health of his patients,” Dr. Jim says. “I was really into exercise and nutrition and I wanted to be a doctor to help people using food and lifestyle as medicine. The curriculum at chiropractic school had much more nutrition while medical school did not. So I went to chiropractic school and really enjoyed it. And I fell in love with chiropractic and taking care of spines while I was there.”

When it comes to staples in his life, Dr. Jim says the one thing he always has in his refrigerator “is mocha bulletproof cold brew; I enjoy the flavor and the healthy benefits.”
When it comes to sharing coffee with four famous people, he figures the judges from The Voice would make the perfect coffee klatch. “I’d like to have dinner with Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Adam Levine,” Dr. Jim says. “They are all very talented and interesting to me. I’d like to hear their life stories.”
The coolest thing he has ever done was compete in -- and finish -- an Ironman Triathlon. “It was great breaking the tape and then cheering on all the other competitors as they finished,” he says.

Dr. David Ortmann joined The Joint Chiropractic family at the Des Peres.
Clinic in April 2019 after previously practicing in Spokane, Washington and Festus, Missouri.
Dr. Ortmann was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and earned his doctorate from Logan University in 1995.
Dr. Ortmann was motivated t get into the chiropractic field after he started seeing a chiropractor when he was 15 years old. “I liked what he did and how he did it,” he says.
Dr. Ortmann knew chiropractic was his calling because it made sense to him. “I like the approach of not putting anything in the body that doesn’t belong there,” he says.
“One of the best things about being in the chiropractic field is the knowledge of knowing how the body really works,” Dr. Ortmann says.
In his spare time, Dr. Ortmann spends time with his wife Laura and 4 kids – 2 boys and 2 girls. He also enjoys a good cigar and a glass of bourbon.

Dr. Khristian Kellum joined The Joint Chiropractic family in 2022 and practices primarily at our clinics in St. Peters, Missouri and Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Dr. Khristian, as his patients call him, earned his doctorate from Logan University in 2022.
Dr. Khristian is originally from Memphis, Tennessee and attended FreedHardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee. He graduated in 2018 with a B.S. in Exercise Science.
Dr. Khristian was motivated to get into the chiropractic field in order to help other achieve their goals. He is a firm believer in the mantra that “Movement is medicine” and says, “I just knew I’ve always wanted to help people.”
Dr. Khristian enjoys spending time with his wife Katie and their dog. He also likes working out and playing rugby as part of the Hornets Rugby Club.

During the fight he pinned me down in a prone position, dropped his knee in the middle of my back, between the the shoulder blades & pulled my head backwards, severely damaging my back causing an "S" shape in 5 vertebrae. This has plagued me all my life and after many years of pain I found Th e Joint. I have visited other chiropractors in the past and experienced some relief, but the cost of repeated visits made ongoing treatment prohibitive. Physical fitness and stretching was able to help me get through. But during the summer of 2019,I hurt myself very badly and could not recover on my own. I went to The Joint and got on the program. After my doctor decided not to do surgery, I was confined to bed for one month. I went to my chiropractor and truly believe he helped in the healing process.
