Fix Things Naturally With Water
By Donna Stark
When I was growing up, it seemed that whenever I didn't feel good, the advice I got from my parents was to drink more water. When I complained of a headache? I was told I needed to drink more water. When my back hurt? It was because I didn't drink enough water. And if there was ever a morning when I felt extra tired and feverish? You guessed it. More water was in my future. I used to think that my parents told me this simply because they had eight children and if they ventured out to the doctor every time we complained that something was wrong, they probably wouldn't have had any extra money to live off of. But seriously, drinking water does have a ton of benefits and the advice to drink more of it was sound.
Tips to Get You Drinking More Water
The benefits of adding more water to your diet include increased weight loss, more energy, better skin appearance, reduced joint pain, enhanced cognitive function, and improved overall health. Needless to say, drinking water can fix practically anything! So, if you are feeling a little "off," or just want to improve your overall well-being, you should take my parents' advice and drink more water. Here are some tips to help you get started.
- Invest in a great water bottle - Save the planet and invest in a water bottle that you love! Make sure it's something you will use and that makes you happy. After all, you are hopefully going to be spending a lot of time together.
- Use a straw - If you are like me, using a straw makes it more fun to drink, and the more fun something is, the more you want to do it, right? So when you are out looking for that perfect water bottle, pick up some straws as well. Maybe even choose those fancy metal ones, because in addition to improving your own health, you will want to do your part with keeping Mother Earth as healthy as possible too.
- Keep track with an app - There are plenty of apps you can choose from that can help you monitor your water consumption. They are simple to use, and the best part is that they will send you a reminder when it is time to drink more water.
- Add flavor - Tired of drinking the same old boring glass of water? Well, spruce it up! Add some fresh lemon slices, berries, watermelon, cucumber, or mint! It's a great way to make your beverage a little more interesting while also adding more nutrients to your body.
