Common Pains a Chiropractor Can Help With

Along with pleasure, there must be pain. Everybody experiences aches of some type from time to time. It's the body's way of telling you that something is wrong. It's how you know whether to take some medication or see a medical professional. There are several common pains that chiropractic care can help treat. Here is a partial list of them.

Back Pain

Back pain is common and is what chiropractors are best known for treating. There are many things that can cause pain in the back including improper lifting of heavy objects, poor posture, sitting too long in one position, or sleeping poorly. No matter what you do for a living, your job has the potential to cause back issues. Chiropractors perform examinations that find subluxations or disc compressions in the spine. Once located, a chiropractor can make adjustments to correct the problem and relieve the pain.

Neck Pain

Neck pain is another common issue and as the top of the spine runs through the neck, anything that can cause back pain can also cause neck pain. Compressions and subluxations can also occur in the neck and a chiropractic exam can find these. With similar techniques, chiropractors can adjust the neck. With the problems corrected, pain can be relieved and prevented in the future.

Tension Headaches

Many people experience frequent headaches which are often caused by tension in the spine and neck. When a chiropractic adjustment fixes the problems, tension is generally relieved. A chiropractor can also loosen tight muscles which can contribute to headaches. The incidence and severity of tension headaches are often reduced by chiropractic care.

Joint Pain

As you move around and perform your tasks each day, your joints can take a lot of abuse. This can cause them to tighten up, reducing range of motion and causing inflammation.  Your joints can also become subluxated. All of these problems can cause pain and make you less mobile. Adjusting joint problems is also in the chiropractor's wheelhouse. This can reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and help you stay more active. When you have full mobility, it is easier to get the exercise necessary to maintain healthy joints.
