How to Improve Luscious Locks
By Genevieve Cunningham
Everyone wants beautiful hair. Whether you want the cute little pixie cut or the curls that roll down your back, we want our hair to be healthy and beautiful. Unfortunately most of us are less than impressed with their own hair. If you would like to improve the health and look of your locks, take a look at these tips to incorporate into your life today.
Take the Right Vitamins
If you want your hair to grow or to be stronger, try adding a Biotin supplement to your morning routine. Biotin is a vitamin that helps the hair and nails to grow longer and stronger. You can find a Biotin supplement at your local pharmacy and at most grocery stores. If you have any concerns about taking this vitamin, just ask your doctor for advice.
Stop Washing It So Much
Believe it or not, you don't have to wash your hair every day. In fact, doing so can make it brittle. If you want to improve the look of your hair, wash it every other day or once every three days. At first your hair may look and feel a bit oily, but give it time. Once your hair becomes accustomed to the new routine, it will feel thicker and look healthier than it ever has before.
Be Gentle for a While
Most people like to color or otherwise treat their hair. While there's nothing wrong with doing this, it's important to be gentle on your hair if you're trying to see an improvement. If it must be colored, use a deep conditioner to keep it healthy. If you're OK with going natural, then give your hair a little time to recover. It's also important to be gentle with a brush. While the brush is made to get out tangles and keep your hair silky smooth, you don't want to rip through your hair or else you’ll be left with split ends and flyaways.
While you still may not have the exact hair of your dreams, using these tips can certainly get you closer. Be patient and persistent with your hair by changing just a little bit in your hair routine. You may see big improvements to the way that it looks and thus feel better about yourself and your hair for the long term.
