Leave Out Carbs and What Do You Have?

By Tom Herrin

Many people subscribe to diets that deprive them of some kind of primary nutrient.  For many, a diet that is as low in fat as possible may be the answer.  It is a proven fact that such diets are known to be able to lengthen the telomeres in the body.  This has to do with actual aging of cells and the material in them.  Even with this, people still require some fats in order for the body to function as it should.  Some more recent diets focus on taking in more fats and trying to alter the way the body uses them.  Many such diets are based on the notion of reducing carbs and forcing the body to burn fats in their place, or do something similar.  Whatever people cut, all of the nutrients play a critical role in health.

Eliminating the Bad Carbs May Be Helpful

All carbs are not created equal.  Those that come from sugar are much worse than many of the others.  In today's society, many of these are the most readily available.  As such, a large amount of what is purchased is in this category.  It has been recommended that women keep their intake of carbs from sugar to 100 calories per day and that men keep theirs to 150.  This is considered to be best for overall health.

Some Carbs Are Useful

Everyone needs to consume carbs of some kind.  They are primarily what fuels the body.  Without them, the muscles may be used for a substitute.  This can be bad because it can mean a loss of lean muscle in the body.  This is basically what happens when something is in a state of starvation.  Plenty of good carbs are around for those who want to make better choices.  Those from fruits, vegetables, and healthy grains can help to provide what is needed and achieve better health.

Who Does Not Want Good Health?

Anyone who takes a look at their health needs must surely want the best they can achieve,  we are all in this together, but we must make good decisions about how we live and what we eat.  I have found that I can do a lot with good food choices.  They make me feel better and able to perform well.  I don't think it is just my imagination.  I want to do all I can.  If we all do that, we should be able to have the best health possible.
