The Chiropractic Advice That Can Help Your Lungs
By Brandi Goodman
Your lung health is vital to your overall well-being. During Lung Cancer Awareness Month especially, it's important to learn just how you can keep your lungs healthy and working to the best of their abilities. Some chiropractic advice can help.
Exercise!
One of the best things you can do for your lungs is get more exercise. Exercise is generally the go-to advice when you're looking to better your well-being. That is because moving your body and introducing oxygen to your lungs and blood flow can help with so many things. Make sure you're exercising daily, getting in plenty of cardio that raises your heart rate and helps oxygen flow through your body. Your lung capacity can increase the more you work out efficiently.
Drink More Water
Water is also vital to your well-being -- and to your lungs. You need to drink more water if you hope to keep your lungs working well. They need to be adequately hydrated. Water also aids in eliminating congestion and mucus buildup that can impact the well-being of these organs. Make sure you're drinking your recommended eight glasses of 8 ounces each. It will help your body in numerous ways.
Eat a Healthy Diet
A lung-healthy diet is important if you want these vital organs to remain effective. You should always consume a nutritious variety of foods -- especially vegetables and fruit -- for every organ in your body to function appropriately. Foods that specifically help your lung health include beets, apples, berries, leafy greens, cabbage, and nuts. Anything that offers antioxidants or Vitamins C and D are good to add to your diet.
Laugh More Often
We've all heard the saying -- and it's true. Laughter really does seem to have medicinal effects. Spend more time laughing and you'll improve your lung capacity. This is especially beneficial if you have been having trouble breathing lately, such as when you have a cold. Laughing can help push some of that stale air out of your lungs and allow new air to flow through. Put on your favorite funny movie or watch some comedy skits online and spend time laughing to better your health.
Always do what you can to keep your lungs functioning properly. Your entire well-being can benefit. Keep these chiropractic tips in mind, and be sure to visit the chiropractor for an adjustment to help your lung health.
