4 Fitness Classes to Try This Fall

By Brandi Goodman

The fall season is when many people start to slack on their fitness goals. The days of enjoying exercise outside start to come to a close as more and more people begin their fall television binge-watching sessions of the returning and new shows. With some fun fitness classes to try, there's no reason you can't still enjoy exercise time. Try one or more of these options and find a new favorite fall activity.

Jazzercise

If you want the chance to burn up to 800 calories in an hour, try Jazzercise. This is actually the name of a physical fitness center in Cary as well as the classes it provides. Located on W. Chatham Street, Jazzercise offers 10 different class formats. Fusion, Dance Mixx, Core, Strike, Interval Dance Mixx, Flip Fusion, Strength 30, Strength 60, Personal Touch, Lo, and Express are your options. Each one offers a unique style. Some are 30 minutes and some are 60. You'll have to check out the offerings to see which one entices you the most.

Aerial Acrobatics

You'll need to take the Intro to Aerial class to start. Aerial acrobatics is a fun way to get fit. You'll learn how to safely use the various apparatuses, as well as stretch and prepare your body to be flexible. Once you pass the introduction classes you can advance to more intense workout levels. Aradia Fitness on Chapel Hill Road offers these classes and similar styles.

Water Fitness

Perhaps you need something easy on the joints. A water fitness class is offered at the Taylor Family YMCA on YMCA Drive. Sessions will vary between shallow and deep water use. You can improve your strength, enhance your flexibility, and keep your joints safe while getting fit in the water.

Super Skippers

The YMCA in Cary also offers a Super Skippers class. These sessions have you working with a jump rope. You'll be getting in a great cardio workout as you jump and move while also toning your arms as you twirl. You'll be working up a sweat and burning a ton of calories.

Fitness should always be on your priority list. Try a fitness class this fall so you can learn something new while getting some exercise. You may enjoy it enough to make it a new fall hobby or even continue going into the other seasons of the year.
