Research indicates that the body needs sleep to function properly, especially the metabolism. A well-functioning metabolism is key to weight loss. Experts encourage adults to get at least six hours of sleep each night, while acknowledging that there are many who require much more than this. Some admit it may be necessary to give yourself a bedtime to ensure that you are getting the rest you need to support what your body needs.
