Meet The Doctors

Dr. Brian Corsetti, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Brier Creek Commons

Dr. Brian Corsetti began treating the community after he moved to Raleigh in 2004, a year after getting his doctorate from Logan College of Chiropractic. A 1998 graduate of Florida State, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology.

Always an advocate for health and wellness, he originally planned to go into medicine, and even studied pre-med, but decided chiropractic was a better and more holistic route for him after a high school friend’s involvement had piqued his interest.

It turned out to be a great move in his career path; today, Dr. Corsetti is doing what he loves while at the same time helping people without drugs or invasive procedures. He enjoys working at The Joint Chiropractic in Brier Creek Commons, he says, “because it’s fast-paced.”

In his spare time, Dr. Corsetti enjoys the fast-paced action of college football -- obviously, he’s a huge fan of his FSU Seminoles -- along with cooking out and spending time with his family: wife Christina, three daughters and a pet beagle.

A U.S. Army veteran who received a commendation medal upon his discharge in 1993, Dr. Corsetti is also a sucker for watching survival shows on television.

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Corsetti loves the beach, and insists on keeping a refrigerator stocked with sushi. If he was looking to share that ocean goodness with celebrity guests, he would choose some A-list dinner companions: Morgan Freeman, Robert DeNiro, Liam Neeson and Vince Vaughn.

“Vince Vaughn is funny,” he says, “and Freeman, DeNiro and Neeson are all cool.”

But when it comes to cool, Dr. Corsetti thinks the coolest thing he has ever done was surf: “It’s a euphoric experience,” he says.

Dr. George Tyler, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Brier Creek Commons

My chiropractor stopped the pain!

Growing up I had a condition of the knees called Osgood- Schlatter Disease. It is one of the most common causes of knee pain in children. I was active in sports, but the pain in my knees frustrated me and limited my participation. My parents took me to their medical doctors but none were able to stop the pain. Then my father took me to a chiropractor. After only a few adjustments, to my back and knees, the pain began to go away. I was both thankful and amazed. I can tell you from my experience both as a patient and a doctor… chiropractic works and it works well!

My chiropractic journey

That was my introduction to chiropractic and I knew then what I wanted to do with my life. After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from N.C. State University, I went on to earn my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Atlanta . I choose to attend Life University because of the strong subluxation-based philosophy. The curriculum at Life University consisted of 2,887 hours of classroom study and 1,598 hours of clinical studies, including kinesiology, toxicology and spinal adjusting. So, while my education sharpened my expertise, my philosophy drives my passion.

In practice, I utilize a wide range of chiropractic techniques, muscular therapies and therapeutic exercise specifically tailored for each patient. This provides an integrated chiropractic approach to conservative care. My practice focuses on the entire family and offers the highest quality of chiropractic care to both children and adults. I find that holistic, conservative care is an extremely effective treatment for a wide variety of conditions. I am an excellent clinician, and a good listener. I hope to have the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenges.

On a personal note

I am blessed to have a lovely wife, Joselyn and three children, Jillian, George Jr. and Vanessa. When I am not spending time with my family, I enjoy listening to jazz, playing the saxophone and I am an avid football fan.

Dr. Scott Councilman, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Brier Creek Commons

Dr. Scott Councilman, a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic-Florida, is the newest member of The Joint Six Forks team (and already patients love him). As a life long athlete, Dr. Councilman wished he knew about the benefits of chiropractic care when he was participating in competitive sports as a child. He enjoys helping athletes not only perform their best, but help them heal faster from injuries with chiropractic care. Dr. Councilman continues his post doctorate studies in neurological disorders and how chiropractic care can help people who have even severe neurological issues.

When Dr. Councilman is not at the office, he enjoys weight training, softball, basketball, and being outside. He also enjoys all the superhero comic and movies that have been coming out in the recent years.

Dr. Brandon Burkley is a 1998 graduate from the National University of Health Sciences located in Lombard, IL. He received both his Bachelor’s of Human Sciences and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from NUHS. He first fell in love with chiropractic care and wanted to pursue it as a profession when he learned of its many natural benefits, and how he could make a positive impact in the lives of others.

During the 20+ years of his professional career, chiropractor, Dr. Burkley has helped a wide range of patients from infants to grandparents, as well as athletes and expecting mothers, live a healthier, more active lifestyle. Today you can find him passionately serving those in the Raleigh and Cary area suffering from migraines, headaches, neck pain, upper and lower back pain, sciatica, arthritis and more at The Joint Chiropractic.

Dr. Burkley is honored to be assisting fellow resident of the Cary and Raleigh area, improve their quality of life through routine chiropractic care. When he is not working at The Joint Chiropractic, he can be found spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Chance Charlton, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Brier Creek Commons

Dr. Chance Charlton arrived at The Joint Chiropractic’s Brier Creek clinic in 2018 with more than a decade of experience. He received his doctorate from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo., after having received a major in Spanish and minor in chemistry from the University of Utah.

“The best thing about being a chiropractor is that I get to help people feel better,” Dr. Charlton says. “It’s very rewarding.”

Prior to becoming the local chiropractor to his neighbors in the Raleigh area, Dr. Charlton worked in geographic locations that spanned a broad range of cultures: Dillingham, Alaska; Mesa, Ariz.; and Louisville, Ky. Not surprising, he enjoys hiking and camping, as well as reading.

Dr. Charlton and his wife Tara have two daughters. He says chiropractic played a huge role in Tara’s life, and it provided the moment when he knew chiropractic was his calling.

“Through chiropractic, my wife’s fibromyalgia was controlled so she could function,” he says.

Having that kind of impact is also what Dr. Charlton likes about working at the Brier Creek clinic. “It’s all about the people,” he says.

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Charlton says the one thing he must have on hand in his kitchen are vegetables, and if he were to share a veggie plate with any four people from history, his ideal party would include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Lee, Buddha and Eve.

“I love Arnold’s accent, Bruce Lee never quits, I would love to hear Buddha’s other point of view, and I would like to hear from Eve on what really went down when all this started,” Dr. Charlton says. “And it’s always good to have a woman’s perspective.”

No doubt, the conversation would eventually turn to Dr. Charlton’s diving excursion off the coast of California. “It’s the coolest thing I’ve ever done,” he says. “Went scuba diving off the Channel Islands and I got to see a whale in its natural habitat.”

Dr. Todd Wegerski, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Brier Creek Commons

Dr. Todd Wegerski is originally from New York, where he completed his undergrad and doctorate degree. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 1997. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Buffalo. He made his way to Cary NC in 1997 and currently resides in Morrisville NC.

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, Dr. Wegerski’s brother is also a chiropractor in Cary NC, and he is the person who originally encouraged him to get involved in chiropractic. Dr. Wegerski has focused his practice on exercise and the non-surgical treatment and management of neck pain and back pain in Morrisville NC.

His practice interests include the application of exercise to correct movement patterns as a fix for back pain. With an insatiable desire to learn, he also has received postgraduate chiropractic education in pediatrics, sports injuries, women’s health, and whiplash disorders and acupuncture.

Dr. Wegerski not only practices as a Morrisville chiropractor for The Joint Chiropractic, but he also is involved behind the scenes. He currently oversees and manages 6 of The Joint Chiropractic offices in the Triangle area, doing work ranging from creating policies, recruiting and training new doctors, and making sure all clinics are up to his high standards. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family. He has two children, Alexa and Andrew. His daughter Alexa currently works as a Wellness Coordinator for The Joint Chiropractic Morrisville. Still involved in athletics, he is active in the community coaching youth teams, as well as playing softball and hockey himself. He enjoys good music, good food, and craft beer.
