Back Pain: How to Keep It Away

By Virginia Laird

Millions across the nation suffer with back pain on a routine basis. Chiropractors insist that there are plenty of things you can do to help prevent and manage such pain. Far too many find themselves in a situation where back pain seems unavoidable and life-altering. Rather than allowing pain to put a damper on your life, chiropractors encourage those who struggle to keep back pain away to apply a few tips to their life. These include:

  • Check your shoes
  • Go to bed
  • Make time to exercise

Check Your Shoes

According to chiropractors, checking your shoes is one way to make sure you are reducing your chances of suffering with back pain. Not only should you avoid extremely high heels, you should also check your tennis shoes. Chiropractors admit that tennis shoes wear out every four to six months when worn often. Wearing tennis shoes long after they are worn is one way to invite back pain. On a different note, high heels should be kept at or below two inches in height. Start today checking your shoes to keep back pain at bay.

Go to Bed

Chiropractors encourage those who struggle with severe back pain to make sure to get plenty of sleep on a regular basis. Where there is a lack of sleep, the body becomes more vulnerable to a variety of aches and pain. Rather than allowing your body to suffer, make sure you are getting the rest you need to prevent such. It is said that the average adult should get at least six hours of sleep each night. Start right away making sure that you are getting the rest you need.

Make Time to Exercise

It is said that exercise can help release tension in the body, which can lead to pain. Chiropractors admit that those who experience intense back pain should avoid strenuous workouts, there is still plenty that can be done to exercise. For most, at least 30 minutes of exercise three to four times each week can be beneficial in preventing pain and releasing tension. A workout as simple as a walk can be helpful. Start making time to work out regularly right away.

With all these tips in hand, there are still plenty who struggle with back pain. If this describes you, it may be time to consider routine chiropractic care.
