Chiropractic Camping Tips
By Sara Butler
This time of the year, people love to be outdoors. One of the most beloved activities is camping. However, you may notice as you get older that camping isn't as comfortable as it used to be and you may not be able to do some of the things associated with it that you did in the past.
The chiropractors at The Joint Chiropractic understand, which is why they've come up with a few healthy camping tips to help ward off soreness and keep you enjoying one of your favorite activities.
Where You Sleep
One of the biggest challenges to camping for many people is creating a place to comfortably sleep at night. How many times have you woken up the next morning and felt as if a band of ninjas snuck into your tent and beat you up? You're not alone in these feelings!
You may want to bring some supplies for a more comfortable night's sleep with you the next time you plan to camp. If you're able, an inflatable air mattress should help. Foam can work to make your sleeping arrangements a little more comfortable, too.
Stretch It Out
Another way to improve how you feel when camping is to make sure to stretch. Both before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning, you should do a few simple stretches. It doesn't have to be complicated, but you should make sure to incorporate stretches from your neck to your feet for the best possible outcome. Talk to the chiropractors at The Joint for some suggestions on easy stretches for your next camping trip.
Distribute Weight Evenly
If you're carrying a backpack, make sure it's a hiking backpack that helps to distribute the weight of your load evenly. These backpacks have belts that help keep the weight distributed evenly over your hips, which is important. You should also pack it with the heaviest items closer to your body to help distribute the weight more evenly.
See the Chiropractor
Before and after your next camping trip, you should make sure to see the chiropractors at The Joint. They can help to address any joint restrictions you may have before the trip to make it more comfortable and your body more functional. After, they can address anything that arose from all the fun you had in the forest!
Camping is fun, but there's no doubt it is challenging. Stay healthy with the help of the chiropractors at The Joint.
