How Chiropractic Promotes Health
By Sara Butler
Your life is experienced through your nervous system – it’s true! Everything you see, feel, smell and taste is done by your central nervous system, so it stands to reason that a healthy central nervous system promotes your overall health. Chiropractic helps you to take care of your central nervous system and experience a more fulfilling and healthy life. Here’s what you need to know about caring for your nervous system and how chiropractic helps.
The Meaning of Health
How do you know if you’re healthy? People have different ideas about what it means to be healthy. You might think it has to do with how your feel, how much energy you have or how well your body functions. If you think those things, then you aren’t exactly wrong, you’re just not looking at the bigger picture.
When your chiropractor discusses health they are talking about how well all the different parts of your body work together as they were made to. If you don’t feel as if your body is functioning efficiently with all the different parts working in concert together, then you definitely need your chiropractor to help you sort it out!
If you utilize chiropractic care to remove interference so all the different parts of your body can work together through communicating freely, then you are on your way to optimal health. Chiropractic can also improve your life through:
- Reduced back pain
- Reduced neck pain
- Improved immune system functioning
- Increased range of motion
- Better function
- Better mood
- Increased energy
How does your chiropractor get all of that done? Well, they focus on your central nervous system. If your body is out of alignment, then the different parts of your body are not free to communicate to one another as they should. These interruptions in communication are what chiropractor calls “subluxations.” Subluxations are misalignments in the joints of your spine that may irritate or press on a nerve, not allowing it to work as it should. When you remove these subluxations, you remove the interference and your body works together as it should. That promotes overall health and wellness – only in the way a chiropractor can give you.
If you don’t feel as if your body is working as it should or you're experiencing pain, discomfort or other feelings that lead you to believe you’re not as healthy as you could be, then discuss it with your chiropractor during your next adjustment at The Joint Chiropractic!
