Exercising the Inexpensive Way
By Donna Stark
Life is full of ups and downs. There may be moments when you have more than enough time and money to invest in your overall health and wellness, and there may be moments when those times are few and far in between. If you are currently in one of those "down" moments and want to get in shape, but don't have much change to spare, keep reading! You may just need a few simple ideas on how to start. Take a look at the following suggestions.
With the exception of a good pair of shoes, walking is one of the most inexpensive ways to exercise. You don't need fancy workout clothes and you don't need to travel great distances to engage in it. Just lace up your shoes and head outdoors! But remember, when considering a pair of shoes to walk in, make sure the pair you select offers plenty of traction and arch support. By walking for at least 30 minutes a day, you can lose or maintain a healthy weight, lower your cholesterol and blood pressure, and keep your stress levels at bay.
If your body can handle a little more intensity in your workouts, get yourself a jump rope! Jumping rope can help you burn more calories, improve endurance, and increase your heart rate. But best of all, it won't cost you more than what a couple of coffees do. And just like walking, all you need is a good pair of shoes and some comfortable clothes.
You may think exercise balls are just for fun but you would be mistaken. They can give your body a serious workout that doesn't cost much at all! Exercise balls are great for keeping your core, back, and hips strong, and can also improve your balance and flexibility. But what makes them a really good choice for the improvement of your health, is that many often come with a printed exercise routine right inside the box they are packaged in!
When it comes to workouts, you can be sure to find exactly what you need online. Between Pilates, yoga, Zumba, dance, and more, there is something to be found for everyone! So take the time to sort through your favorites and create your very own collection of fitness videos. You can probably do so without spending a dime!
As you can see, with just a little creativity and motivation, you can reach all your health and fitness goals without spending more than you can afford. And when your life changes course, which it will, you can count on being in the best shape of your life!
