Chiropractic Health Month Encourages Movement

By Brandi Swieter

Each year, Chiropractic Health Month takes a different approach. The 2018 mantra is “Move 4 Life." The goal is to get people moving and exercising so they improve their overall musculoskeletal health. Staying active can prevent pain and injury. It’s an important part of maintaining well-being.

The Benefits of Exercise

Enhancing muscles and preventing injury aren’t all that’s possible through regular exercise. There are many benefits to exercise that make it an important part of maintaining health. It reduces the risk for heart disease. It prevents type 2 diabetes. It strengthens the bones. As people age, working out is particularly important to keep the bones and muscles strong. Doing so can prevent falls and serious injuries that occur because of them.

Outdoor Exercise

Countless outdoor exercise options exist that allow people to double their benefits. They receive the benefits from working out while also improving their mood and overall well-being simply from being outdoors. This is particularly true if there is sunlight outside providing a dose of Vitamin D.

Outdoor options include going for a walk through a park. Taking a hike is another solid choice. There are outdoor exercise classes, such as yoga, that many enjoy. Others can try throwing a ball back and forth or tossing a frisbee. Joining in on a sport is also ideal, such as playing a game of flag football or soccer. With so many options to choose from everyone can enjoy outdoor exercise and gain the benefits.

Indoor Exercise

Working out at a machine isn’t the only indoor option. Anyone can exercise indoors by trying something as simple as dancing. Perhaps a person enjoys dance. They can dance around their living room to work up a sweat and tone their body. Joining a class is also possible. Many of them exist at local gyms. Plenty of options exist that can get people working on their bodies and overall health.

Visit The Joint Chiropractic to learn more about improving overall health and maintaining wellness. Movement is highly encouraged, with exercises even offered after chiropractic care to ensure the body is well taken care of and working well. Regular visits are beneficial and will help to provide the care and management people need on top of their own daily care routines to maintain their health.
