How to Energize Your Days Naturally
By Donna Stark
Do you miss waking up and feeling like you can conquer the world? Have your energy levels been on the decline and you aren't sure why? There are many reasons why your life may feel as if it is in slow motion but there are also just as many ways to get your energy back to where it used to be. If you want to shake things up a bit and end your days with as much life as you started them, keep reading. Your local chiropractors at The Joint Chiropractic have put together a list of their favorite recommendations on how to do so naturally.
Exercise Every Day
Exercise is one of the simplest, yet most effective, ways to increase your energy levels naturally. It encourages the release of endorphins, increases your energy supply, and boosts the circulation of oxygen throughout your body. Exercise is so effective, that in addition to feeling a change in your body physically, you may experience an uptick in your mental energy as well! How much exercise should you do? Well, you should try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise into your daily routine for maximum results, but if you have to break that down into smaller sessions, feel free. Even a short walk down the street and back can do wonders for your day.
Watch Your Sleep
This may sound counterintuitive, but getting too much sleep during the day can cause sleep problems and may actually cause you to feel less energized. It's important to follow a consistent sleep schedule, so try to go to bed and wake up at the same time and limit the number of naps you take. It is generally recommended that adults get around seven to eight hours of sleep each day. Monitor your sleep and try to make that your goal.
Eat a Nutritious Breakfast
The most important habit you can develop is to eat a nutrient-rich breakfast every morning. After all, it is the best way to fuel your body properly! Lose those sluggish, tired feelings by trying some of the suggestions below.
- Greek yogurt topped with fresh fruit and granola
- Eggs with whole-wheat toast
- Oatmeal with a dollop of peanut butter or some fresh fruit slices
- Protein shake or breakfast smoothie
