Why Chiropractors Recommend Regular Exercise
By Brandi Goodman
All doctors recommend that you add more exercise to your daily routine -- chiropractors included. They aren't trying to make your life miserable, as much as you may feel that way upon first hearing the word "exercise." What they're trying to accomplish instead is helping you achieve a healthier lifestyle. Fitness is recommended for good reasons.
To Strengthen Your Body
A strong body is better able to handle various activities without experiencing pain in the process. Let your body remain weak and uncoordinated, and you're far more likely to develop pain and experience injuries over time. You need to exercise so you can strengthen your body and joints and maintain your well-being.
To Improve Your Range of Motion
When you're experiencing pain, you're most likely not able to move as well as you once did. Pain can be debilitating. Rather than being stuck on the couch, unable to move, get up and get your exercise so you can utilize your full range of motion.
To Ease Your Pain
Pain is a daily occurrence for some. An ache in your neck can quickly creep up. You may develop a pain in your shoulder or back. Even your hips, knees, and other joints can suffer for various reasons. Failing to get up and exercise each day is one of the culprits for pain. Stiffness sets in, causing discomfort, when you aren't moving much. Be sure to add fitness to your daily routine so you can ease the pain you're experiencing.
To Enhance Your Circulation
Problems with poor circulation can also lead to discomfort. When your blood isn't flowing correctly through your body, you may feel an ache in the area where it's pooled. You need to exercise so your circulation remains correct, and you are not feeling uncomfortable because of it. The same applies to your digestion. Exercise can help your digestive tract flow so you don't develop an uncomfortable feeling in your stomach.
Once you start to feel an ache coming on, get up and exercise. Even if all you do is jog in place or walk around the block, you'll still be getting your blood flowing and your joints lubricated so you can feel good again. If you have a worsening pain problem, stop in at The Joint Chiropractic. You may need a correction so that your body is fit and able to start an exercise routine in the first place.
