Beat the Exercise Issue With Chiropractic Support

By Sandy Schroeder

For many of us fitness has become a serious health goal. We have finally accepted the Department of Health and Human Services guidelines that tell us we need to get at least 30 minutes of exercise at least five times a week, but that does not make it any easier to achieve in a busy world.

Chiropractic Can Help

If you can relate, The Joint Chiropractic clinic near you may be able to help with a wellness, fitness, health center that helps people find natural, drug-free solutions. Your chiropractor can help you put together the best fitness routines and monitor your progress.

When you come in, you will learn how spinal health plays into overall health, Your chiropractor will assess your spinal health and review your health history. A gentle targeted spinal adjustment may ease aches and pains and help you move forward with better sleep, more energy, improved digestion, and more alertness. Benefits are unique to each person.

As you evaluate yours, you may find weekly 15-minute spinal adjustments work perfectly to keep you moving. Together, you and your chiropractor can outline different ways to make exercise happen every day.

Exercise Overview

Harvard Health offers these tips about exercise.

Break up the session - The newest guidelines say you do not have to do all 30 minutes in one session. You can count all moderately intense physical activity throughout the day. You can do three 10-minute blocks before breakfast, during lunch break and after dinner. Or you can do 15 minutes in the morning and 15 more in the afternoon.

Go from moderate to vigorous - If you are already doing a gym routine, you can cut your time in half, averaging 75 minutes a week, by doing vigorous exercise instead of moderate. Be sure to check with your doctor first, when making exercise changes.

Non-exercise counts - Toting the groceries, carting the laundry around, dancing with your toddler, vacuuming or mopping, and fidgeting all count as physical effort. Trimming the bushes, planting a new garden or cleaning out the garage might show up too.

Extra activities work too - Stretching exercises when you get up in the morning, and relaxing yoga exercises before bedtime count. Look at your daily routines and you may see other physical efforts. You may be chasing toddlers in the backyard, biking to the park with your kids, or helping with a soccer team practice.
