But, what does that mean? What sort of things can be done every day to promote mental well-being? It’s actually easy! Get Up Early
Research has shown that those who get up earlier tend to be happier, healthier, and have a lower risk of developing depression. If you can, develop an early morning ritual that gets your day started off right. This one step may make a bigger difference than you realize.
Working out produces both adrenaline and endorphins in our body. These two chemicals boost moods and make us feel better about ourselves. Even a simple 20-30 minutes every day is enough to bring about the healthy benefits.
Meet Face-to-Face With Loved Ones
You may have thousands of online friends, and that’s great. But nothing can replace friends and family that you can see and touch on a regular basis. We all need that close connection to others. Even if it’s five minutes, make time for loved ones every day.
Spend Some Time Alone
Even though we should spend time with others, we also need a little alone time. As we get older, this becomes hard to come by. But again, even five minutes alone might be enough to clear your mind, calm your moods, and recharge your batteries for the rest of the day.

Don’t forget that no matter where you are in life, someone out there has it worse. At the end of the day, name all of the good things in your life. Maybe it’s a job and a steady paycheck. Maybe it’s your health or the health of a loved one. Maybe it’s a bed, a home, or just that you woke up another day. Remembering the good things in life helps to keep us from dwelling on the negative and putting ourselves in a foul mood.
