Get Uncomfortable and Try Something New!

Got a minute or two? Let's talk about how much we all enjoy being comfortable. How our daily routines provide a sense of security and help us get through to tomorrow, how our habits settle our hearts and calm our minds, and how our creature comforts are a vital part of our lifestyle. There is certainly nothing wrong with wanting to be comfortable in every aspect of your life, however, there are times when that comfort could be impeding your opportunity for growth. And within the boundaries that you are most at ease, that's the time when you may need to step out of your box and try something new. Need some ideas to get you started? Take a look.

Diet

There are tons of products on the market that make it easier than ever to bring healthier options to your dinner table. Have you tried plant-based burgers and nuggets, milk alternatives, or nondairy yogurts yet? I bet you have heard about kombucha, mushroom drink mixes, and Manuka honey, but have you taken the leap to purchase some? Start with just one or two items a week and see where it leads. Who knows? You may end up loving this new diet of yours!

Exercise

The treadmill has become your best friend at the gym, hasn't it? Is that because you're like me and you love to watch Netflix on your phone while walking those inclines or is it because you are hesitant to try something new? Well, it doesn't really matter because it's all for comfort and security anyway, isn't it? So why don't you try something new the next time you are at the gym? Whether it's a different machine or a new fitness class, it will certainly shake things up in your body and give you a fresh perspective for your workouts.

Adventures

We all love our bed and pillows, our favorite sweats, and the remote in our hand, but don't you think that at some point, you should see the light of day? Exploration is good for the soul, and for the relationships you have with those in your life, so why don't you grab your loved ones and set out for an adventure? Be spontaneous and travel to the neighboring city or hold onto some of that control you love and plan a weekend getaway. Whatever you do, it is sure to bring laughter and long-lasting memories to everyone!
