Zero Cost Changes to Improve Your Health
By Virginia Laird
Many people trying to make improvements in health sign up for an expensive diet program or personal trainer. Although these can be life changing, it is not necessary. There are several simple changes that do not have to cost a fortune and do not come with any sort of autoship or contract. These include:
- Sleep - Get enough
- Water - Drink plenty
- Meals - Plan them ahead of time
- Outdoors - Get out and get some fresh air
- Exercise - Make time for it
Take notice that these changes only require determination, self motivation, and a little time. None of the items on the list above should cost anyone more than is already being spent. All of these can offer significant improvements to health that can be noticed within a short period of time.
Sleep Is Important
It is important to get enough sleep each night. Research suggests that adults should get a minimum of six hours each night. This allows the body to repair itself and regain strength and stamina needed to survive the next day.
Water Can Keep You Hydrated
Water plays a huge role in maintaining body functions. Staying hydrated allows the kidneys to flush out harmful toxins.
Planned Meals Are Best
When meals are planned ahead of time it can help a person to make healthier choices. Waiting until the last minute to figure out what to eat generally leads to a fast food run and junk food binge.
Get Outdoors
Getting fresh air provides a boost to the immune system. Spending time outside also allows the body to soak up some Vitamin D. Another great thing about spending time outside is that it helps the mind clear from stress.
Exercise Daily
If the only thing keeping you from exercise is time, change that. It is important to allow time to at least go for a brisk walk. Other great, low impact exercises can include yoga and swimming. This can help stimulate bloodflow and clear the mind. If you need help getting started on this, count your walk outside as both exercise and getting outdoors.
No matter which item you select to be your starting off point, give it time to work. You may see small changes after only a couple of weeks. Stay the path: you can do it!
