When Knee, Ankle, or Foot Pain Hits, See Your Chiropractor

By Stephen R. Farris

You don't have to be an athlete to develop knee, ankle, or foot pain. These conditions can happen to anyone no matter what age you are. However, as we grow older, you may start to feel more pain in these areas.

You may find it difficult to walk, or bear weight on your knees, ankles, and feet. This could be caused from the type of work you do, or from repeatedly walking on uneven grades and/or surfaces. Knee, ankle, and foot pain could also be caused from extracurricular activities away from your job as well, or simply by doing everyday chores around the house.

Most often we try to rid the pain with over-the-counter medications (OTCs), or your primary care physician may prescribe medicine to ease the pain. Unfortunately, these are usually just minor fixes for the pain you feel, and could lead to becoming addicted to OTCs or prescription meds if the pain persists, or in some cases, becomes chronic.

If you're dealing with knee, ankle, and/or foot pain, there is another method you should consider trying. The good news is that it doesn't require OTCs or prescription medication. As a matter of fact, it's an all-natural alternative called chiropractic care, or treatment.

The Healthy Alternative

Chiropractic care is an all-natural, hands-on, non-invasive, non-addictive approach to pain relief, performed by licensed doctors of chiropractic using a technique called chiropractic adjustment. These adjustments help reduce joint restrictions and/or "misalignments" in the spine and other joints in your body, to reduce inflammation. By doing this, it increases the mobility of the joints and improves nervous system function.

There are several other benefits you may not be aware of when receiving chiropractic treatments, such as:

  • Reduction in pain and discomfort

  • Reduction in inflammation

  • Improved range of motion

  • Improved flexibility

  • Noticeable muscle tone and strength

The primary goal of chiropractic care is to get you pain-free, so you can return to your normal daily activities as quickly as possible, and to live a more vibrant, healthy, and active lifestyle.

When knee, ankle, and/or foot pain begins to limit how you function on a regular basis, visit your local chiropractor such as the ones that can be found at The Joint Chiropractic. The Joint Chiropractic has more than 600 nationwide locations, and the great thing is there's no need to call for an appointment, just walk right in and ask to speak to one of their doctors of chiropractic.
