How Your Phone Can Help You Lose Weight
If you’ve got some weight to lose, you most likely feel a little sad and discouraged when you think about losing it. If you’re feeling gloomy and down on yourself, that’s completely normal. Embrace the feeling for a good five or ten minutes and then let it go.
Dieting in 2013 can actually be fun and having a positive attitude can make all the difference in your weight goals. In addition to the numerous diet choices out there, you’ve also got access to something your grandmother never did—weight loss apps and websites. Here are a few high-tech weight loss helpers that will actually get you excited about losing weight.
- My Fitness Pal - This 100 percent free site walks you through how to set up a food diary and can even help you personalize your own diet plan. Free mobile apps for both the iPhone and the Android mean it works on any smartphone. Check it out here.
- Start Your Diet.com - This is an old favorite of mine. If you’re a nerd for charts and grafts like I am, this is the site for you. Track your meals, weight, exercise goals and even your water intake. Free services are great on their own, but you can pay a small fee to get bonus help. It works with smartphones too.
- Transcontinental Journey - Keep your walking goals fresh by using this free government website that allows you to take a virtual walk from Virginia to Oregon. Every day you enter the miles you’ve walked that day and you’re rewarded with a picture from Google images that shows you where you are on your journey. Walking has never been so fun. Start walking now.
