3 Things You Should Cut From Your Diet for Good

By Genevieve Cunningham

Improving your diet can be such a bore. Sometimes it seems as though all of the bad foods are the ones that taste so good! It’s tough to go from a flavor-packed menu -- even if it’s unhealthy -- to a healthier, lighter change in foods and flavor. But even if you don’t change your diet completely, there are definitely some foods that should never enter your kitchen, and certainly not your mouth. If you’re ready to make a positive change to your menu, take a look at these three things to get out of your menu today.

Fried Foods

If you’re living in the south, this is going to be a hard task. But fried foods -- whether it’s fries or chicken -- are incredibly bad for your body and overall health. They’re riddled with calories, fats, grease, and carbohydrates. They’re one of the worst foods to keep in your diet. Unfortunately, they’re also delicious! And this taste factor makes it difficult to cut them out. But if you’re serious about better health, set your sights on eliminating these kinds of foods for a healthy head start.

Sugar Packed Soda

Soda is just good. It’s full of flavor, gives you that zap of bubbly sensation, and can even give you a blast of energy. But if we’re being honest, soda is incredibly unhealthy. It’s packed full of sugar and caffeine and empty calories. It takes away from your overall caloric intake for the day, but it doesn’t provide you with any nutritional value. If you have a serious soda addiction, at least opt for the diet version, which contains zero sugar. But if you have the willpower and self-discipline, try to cut it out completely for a healthier menu overall.

White Bread

Even though it’s the staple of many kitchens, white bread is not good for the body. It’s a carbohydrate that your menu could really do without. What should you choose instead? Wheat bread is a far better option, but you can also choose English muffins or whole grain tortillas, depending on the rest of your menu. This is an easy switch to make, as even though you’ll have to get used to a different flavor, it won’t cost any more and works exactly the same in every recipe.

Eating a healthy diet can seem like a challenge in the beginning. It’s hard to change long-term habits and form a new, healthier plan of action. But with some small changes to your diet, you can make a big difference in the way that you feel and look. Ditch these unhealthy foods from your diet today, and make a menu that boosts your health and wellness for the rest of your life.
