Dr. Hannah Hester became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 when she began serving residents in the Fort Worth area, where she does the work she finds so rewarding.
“My favorite part about being in the chiropractic field is watching patients take control of their health,” she says. “I have always loved the holistic approach to restore the body to its optimal state.
“It’s gratifying to watch a patient get off the table and be able to move pain-free.”
Dr Hannah, as her patients call her, grew up in Midlothian. She and husband Josh, who is also a chiropractor, met at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas and married the day after graduation. They enjoy spending time together with their dog Finn, “the laziest and sweetest goldendoodle you will ever meet.” She also likes staying active: “I’ve played volleyball since I was little and still love playing today.”
In addition to getting her doctorate from Parker College, she also earned bachelor’s degrees in anatomy, and health and wellness.
“I’ve seen a chiropractor since I was a child, but it never crossed my mind to pursue it,” Dr. Hannah says. “After two years of college volleyball, I felt the Lord call me to step out of my position and pursue something new. I had no idea of His plans, but I took a leap of faith. The day after I left my team, I was approached by a current chiropractic student; he spoke to me about all the amazing benefits of chiropractic and I immediately felt the Lord tell me this was His plan. I applied the next day and I have fallen in love with this career.”
There has been no looking back. Dr. Hannah loves the story of a female patient suffering chronic neck pain and headaches but who was about to risk surgery that would limit her neck mobility for the slight chance of reducing her pain. “She decided to give chiropractic one chance,” Dr. Hannah says. “After one week, she came back to me and explained that after her adjustment, she slept through the night, and that she could not remember the last time she was able to fall asleep and stay asleep pain-free.”

Dr. Hannah says the one thing she always has stocked in her freezer is ice cream: “I love something sweet at the end of the day.”
She says the best book she has read is The Love Dare by brothers Alex Kendrick and Stephen Kendrick. “I originally read this book to start off my marriage the right way, but I have now applied these principles to my everyday life,” Dr. Hannah says. “It has taught me the value of loving unconditionally and acting on it to each and every person I encounter."
Dr. Matt Kolker joined The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2020 and began serving residents at the Chapel Hill clinic location doing the work he feels he was born to do.
“People come to us and get better,” he says. “No drugs or surgery required. I get to be a part of my patients’ health journey. It is such a privilege to have people trust you with their health, and it is exciting and humbling to witness them achieve their desired results.
“The other thing I love about being in the chiropractic field is that it’s people-centric, which is so much fun. My favorite is when people feel so much better that they start crying. It’s incredible to know that something that I’ve done can have that much of a positive impact on others.”
Dr. Matt, as his patients call him, grew up in the Metroplex and has worked previously in Kennedale, Terrell, Denton, and Fort Worth.
He enjoys spending time with his family and is a big fan of self-improvement. He likes playing guitar and learning piano, as well as exercising and landscaping. He also really likes watching The Office.
Dr. Matt attended Texas A&M, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting; he then earned his doctorate of chiropractic at Parker University in Dallas.
“I began thinking about chiropractic in high school,” he says. “My mom is a chiropractor, so I’ve been exposed to the profession my entire life. What initially drew me to it was seeing my mother develop lifelong relationships with her patients. Every day was a continual confirmation that I am doing what I was made to do. I love this profession, and being a part of someone’s journey out of pain and into wellness is so satisfying. I am regularly both happy and satisfied.
“The Joint Chapel Hill has been a joy to work at. I love coming in every day and adjusting patients. They are always grateful for our service. I have great teammates. I love where I work.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Matt has a strict regimen of caffeine, beginning with coffee in the morning and a Celsius energy drink in the afternoon, which he always keeps stocked in his refrigerator: “They’re a healthy alternative to many other energy drink options.”
If he could share a healthy drink with any four people from history, Dr. Matt would love to sit down with inventor Nikola Tesla, philosopher Socrates, political commentator Ben Shapiro, and singer Freddy Mercury.
“Tesla is a genius who could have changed the world, and Socrates shaped all of Western thought,” Dr. Matt says. “Ben Shapiro is one of my living heroes. I grew up listening to the band Queen and I think Freddy Mercury has such a unique voice; I would have loved to meet him in person.”
Dr. Matt says the most thrilling thing he has done is skydive. “It’s pretty risky,” he admits. “It takes a lot of trust to jump out of a perfectly good airplane with a complete stranger strapped to your back.”
