You May Be Suffering From Poor Sleep if You Sleep In
By Tom Herrin
It is pretty likely that everyone has that time when they have overslept. Some extreme change in schedule or exhaustion can cause anyone to sleep right through their normal rising time. There may be a sign of some problems when it happens more often than not or when people wake up and feel every bit as tired as when they went to bed. Sometimes they are even more tired. If this is the case, there is a good chance that something is interfering with their ability to sleep effectively. It can have some really negative, if not serious, effects on health. Understanding it can lay the groundwork for better days ahead.
Sleep For Kids
As pretty much everyone knows, the very young need lots of sleep, and the need decreases with age. Sleep can mean the difference between success and failure in school as patterns of behavior are set. It can help children to focus as well as perform mental tasks. It can also improve creativity and memory. Those in athletic activities will have better performance if they get an adequate amount of good sleep. Additionally as students are able to feel they are more successful, their school experience will be a better one.
Sleep For Adults
As people age, their sleep requirements may be a little less, but it is still critical that they receive a sufficient amount. Adults struggle with enough problems as it is without having to be tired all of the time. Sleep can help improve their response time, thereby reducing accidents that may occur on the road, at home, or in the workplace. Sleep can contribute to more effective weight management. It also can offer stress relief. This alone may cover a lot of ground for many adults. It also help to slow or improve inflammation.
Take Charge Of Your Life
The one factor that can have the most influence on sleep is you. It will take a personal commitment to determine what you will need to do to improve sleep. For many people, caffeine interferes in a big way. Noise or light levels can play a big part. Adjusting exercise times may allow a greater benefit of it regarding sleep. Eating habits can disrupt sleep. Eating too late or too heavy can be a problem. Some kinds of foods are more conducive to relaxation while others may keep the body too revved up. Experiment until you find something that allows you to wake up on time and feel rested.
