Broaden Your Choice of Vegetables for Health
By Tom Herrin
The time for adding good things to a diet is before there are problems. A lot of times, the greater the diversity in diet, the better it may be. Cultivating a wide variety of tastes can help people to be more accepting and willing to try different things. The result can be a better and healthier diet. One of the things that can make it even better is to add leafy greens. They have a long history of doing good things and packing meals full of nutrients. For those who haven't already included them in their diets, they may be a great addition to meals kids.
They May Help the Skin
Many people worry about keeping their skin looking as young as possible. As a result, they may spend quite a bit of money on a regular basis. It is important to have good skin care, but adjusting the diet may do as much good. Leafy green vegetables can provide many of the vitamins and minerals that the skin requires to be healthy. Remember that the skin is an organ. It needs things specific to it. The high water content also helps to add moisture and prevent wrinkles.
They May Help Provide Greater Energy
A lot of people seem to run out of gas as they age or encounter other changes in their lives. This could be due to a need for more nutrients. One of those that may be supplied by leafy greens is iron. While most people likely feel that they need more meat for this, leafy greens may serve the same purpose without taking in the fats and other things in meats. Iron helps the blood to carry more oxygen to power the body.
They May Enhance Quality and Length of Life
While there is certainly no magic formula for increasing life expectancy, eating leafy greens can play a part. I enjoy eating them anytime. They never make me feel heavy or weighted down. I always feel more energetic after eating them. They are great in the warmer weather when I just don't like to load up on heavier foods. It is believed that many of the minerals contained in these can help to strengthen the internal body. They are worth adding to your diet and a really good thing to introduce to your children to include in their lifelong diets.
