Don't Let These Morning Health Blunders Ruin Your Day

There are so many ways you can ruin your day before you even get to work in the morning. Don’t let these common morning health blunders ruin the rest of your day. Instead fix them with these simple solutions for a more productive and healthier day.

Wake Up to More Light

Most people will wake up in a dark room, get ready for the day, and then spend 8-9 hours in their office. They barely see the light of day, and it can have negative effects on their health. Missing out on natural sunrays can lead to higher BMIs, more stress, and a higher risk of depression. Instead, try to get 20-30 minutes of natural light in the morning. You can easily do this by opening up your blinds as soon as you wake up, taking a quick run or walk before breakfast, or by eating your breakfast outside.

Wake Up with Water

The first thing you should be drinking in the morning is water. If you don’t your body will be trying to catch up on staying hydrated for the rest of the day. Just how important is getting enough water in the a.m.? Dehydration in the morning can put you in a bad mood, make you even more tired, and less productive. Try getting 24 ounces of water before reaching for your cup of coffee, and you will have a better morning workout, mood, and productive day at work.

Don’t Work Out on Empty

There has been much debate as to which is better for you – working out after breakfast or working out on an empty stomach. According to a recent British research, working out before eating breakfast can leave you in a grumpier mood and in a fog for the rest of the day. Make sure you fuel your body for your work out , and not only will you enjoy a better workout, but you will enjoy the benefits the rest of the day.

Get Enough Protein

One study found that individuals who ate 30 grams of protein at all three of their meals had a 25 percent higher muscle protein synthesis rate than those who just ate most of their protein for dinner. Aiming for 30 grams of protein in the morning can help keep you satisfied and full of energy more than a bowl of oatmeal or cereal.
