Looking for a Wellness Edge? Try Chiropractic
By Sandy Schroeder
Most of us are familiar with the basics of health and wellness. We try to eat a healthy diet and stay active. But we would all love to come up with a fresh new wellness edge, and chiropractic may prove to be just that.
You may be pleasantly surprised to find an “entirely different” wellness center, ready to help you hone in on what you want your health to be.
The Joint Chiropractic’s local clinic is staffed with licensed professionals who may be able to help you achieve your wellness goals. When you come in, you can learn more about spinal health with its whole person approach that may be just what you need.
Focusing On You
Whatever your issues, aching back, stiff neck, stressful attitudes, or overloaded schedules, The Joint staff will start where you are, and help you get a grip.
The spinal adjustment that is used to correct dysfunctions may provide pain relief for pain in your neck, back, or other joints. It may also make you feel more energetic, focused or relaxed.
Often chiropractic results inspire people to explore their wish list. Siphoning off stress, losing weight, or balancing work and family schedules may become realistic goals. As you put together your plan of attack, here are a few ways to work on wellness.
Posture – Do a good 3-way mirror review or picture of your posture standing, sitting and loafing on the couch. What you see is what your body gets, which means your spine can be undercutting your health when you hunch forward over screens or slouch on the couch. Start reviewing your posture as you work, using a good chair with proper back support to sit up straight. Keep all screens at eye level and move to another chair if the couch proves to be irresistible for slouching.
Stress Relief – Take a minute to think about where your stress shows up. It could be operating at a peak as you try to get everybody going in the morning. Or it might be spiking your blood pressure throughout the day as you field one meeting after another. Wherever stress seems to be strongest, start using some methods to back it off. If it's the morning rush, try getting up an hour earlier to make everything less intense. If it’s the workday pressure, take 10 or 15 minutes to decompress when you need it most. Walk outside or just sit and breathe in a quiet spot.
