Meet The Doctors
Dr. Kevin Stotts joined the Kingwood location of The Joint Chiropractic in July 2017. He is a 2000 graduate of Texas A&M, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on business management; he received his doctorate of chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic in 2008.
“The best thing about the chiropractic field is the ability to safely help patients across all age groups, including infants, the elderly, and expectant mothers, due to our non-drug and non-surgical approach to patient care,” Dr. Stotts says.”The meaningful relationships I am able to form with my patients is another advantage of being a chiropractor. The majority of my patients make chiropractic part of their weekly wellness routine, allowing me to not only be a part of their healthcare, but also their everyday lives.”
Dr. Stotts thrives on those relationships after previously working in Sugar Land and Navasota. Not only does he enjoy time with his patients, but also time with his wife and four sons -- and an English bulldog named Hank.
“I knew chiropractic was my calling after it helped me to avoid back surgery in 2003,” Dr. Stotts says. “I felt so strongly about the benefits of chiropractic care that I immediately applied for chiropractic medical school.”
As such, he is excited to come into work every day. “I really love working at The Joint Kingwood,” Dr. Stotts says. “I live in the Kingwood area and take great pride in treating my patients like family.”
He is also active in the community. Dr. Stotts’ hobbies include traveling, Texas A&M athletics, baseball games at EMCSA, date nights with his wife, and he is an active member at The Woodlands Church.
In Case You Didn’t Know:
Dr. Stotts has a sweet tooth for sweet tea. It’s one of the things he says he always has chilled in the fridge. “I’m a southern boy who grew up drinking sweet tea,” he says. “It’s my vice. My mom hooked me on sweet tea early by filling my sippy cups with it.”
If he could sit on the porch and drink sweet tea with anyone, he might want to have a guitar on hand -- and maybe a football to toss. His ideal dinner party would include singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen, football players Von Miller and JJ Watt, and chef Bryan Caswell.

Dr. Robin Rivers comes to us from the golden state of California. Retiring after 25 years of successful practice there, she and her husband made their way to Texas to adopt the equestrian lifestyle.

Dr. Rivers' expertise encompasses a variety of techniques and, as a result of her extensive knowledge, her patients experience relief through her wellness care.

2 5 1I do appreciate getting an adjustment. But I want to see who I want to see. Period. On 3/15 I visited and found out that the Dr. I usually have was off. So I requested another Dr. who I have used prior and know that he is good. I used the restroom and when I came out I was asked to lay down on the other table. I wanted to say something but did not want to make a scene. I knew he was new and I know that everybody has to start somewhere but I was uncolorable using someone that I do not know. I have been hurt twice using new people. Now I am the one paying the bill, I should have been able to see the Dr. I wanted and if that Dr. did not want to see them tell me. Give me the option. So, I will go somewhere else.

1 5 1I had an at least 2 payment contract with The Joint in Kingwood and I really enjoyed it. During that time I started seeing an Upper Cervical Specialist that recommended I hold off on any neck adjustments during our 6 month treatment because it could undo what he was doing. During the 3rd payment I called to temporarily cancel my membership and I was transferred to Dr. Stotts who was given a briefing from the receptionist. He came out of the gate explaining that I was in an at least 2 payment contract and this was the second payment, there is no refund because it’s in the contract and so on. When I tried to get a word in to show it was the 3rd it was like I cut him off, “well I was talking, but go ahead.” He looked further and saw it was the 3rd. He continued to explain how it was already passed the payment date and how I can’t be refunded after the payment date, and much more. He had a very passive aggressive attitude from the beginning. He saw it as nothing more than a competitor stealing his customer. I explained that the plan was to return after the 6 month treatment, because the Upper Cervical Specialist even said “there is nothing wrong with regular maintenance.” However, after the conversation with Kevin Stotts I have no intention of returning to The Joint, especially the one in Kingwood.

1 5 1I have been to this place 3 times, The first time was with the original owner when it opened. She was great. Since then I have not seen her and it looks like she no longer works there. The 2 other doctors I saw were in need of training. The last one was so bad he popped only 4 spots and said he was done. In the process he pulled both of my leg muscles. I would recommend finding someone else, anyone else.

After seeing a chiropractor through my insurance years ago I learned that I have degenerate disc disease and at the time started a wellness plan to help get my pain under control. Unfortunately my insurance would only cover so much and it became too expensive to keep it going and I had to stop. Fast forward to now, I saw an ad for The Joint and decided to give them a try. I chose The Joint in Kingwood and couldn't be happier. Dr. Cody Simpson has gotten my neck and back feeling way better and the pain more manageable. All I can say is they have been a lifesaver to me. Before The Joint I was struggling with constant shoulder and lower back discomfort. I would have to tape my shoulder in place with KT tape and ice following workouts. I no longer struggle with pain and inflammation thanks to the specialized adjustments. Their office is always warm and inviting. And there is rarely a wait during the week. I took a chance at this place because my parents vouched for it and I AM SO GLAD I DID! In one session my pain went from a white knuckled 10 to a 5. The bedside service is a 10. I highly recommend, even if you aren't having pain, because by then damage may already be done.
