Meet The Doctors
Dr. Sam Allen was born and raised in Dodge City, Kansas. He graduated from St. Mary of the Plains College with a Bachelor of Arts in education in 1979 and from the chiropractic fountainhead, Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa in 1989 with a Doctorate in Chiropractic. Dr. Allen became interested in chiropractic after his brother Ted started studying at Palmer College. Once he received information about chiropractic he knew he was destined to be in this health care field. After a serious motor vehicle accident in 1980 he learned first-hand about chiropractic and the amazing health benefits it has to offer. He thoroughly enjoys helping the patients that come to him for treatment reach their optimum potential. Dr. Allen has worked with several general medical and orthopedic doctors and neurologists over the course of his career with the last 27 years in the Brownsville and Mission, Texas area. This has helped him understand the importance of preventative and wellness care. His passion is to educate his patients and the community about Chiropractic and what it can do for them and assist patients in understanding the benefits of routine maintenance care. Dr. Allen has adjusted thousands of patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics, athletes to stroke victims, children with ADD / ADHD to wheelchair bound and injured workers to those battered in motor vehicle collisions, from pregnant women to slip and fall victims. Dr. Allen treats patients of all ages who are dealing with acute sudden injury or chronic debilitating health problems. Dr. Leo Thatcher Jr., DC is a valley native and was born and grew up in Mission, Tx. He is a product of La Joya High School and always had a passion for the medical and healing profession. After being introduced to chiropractic by a fellow colleague, His passion led him to attend Chiropractic school in Dallas, Tx. Dr. Thatcher attended Parker College of Chiropractic and graduated with a Doctorate degree in Chiropractic in December, 2008. After graduating from Parker College of Chiropractic, Dr. Thatcher worked for several chiropractic offices and furthered his knowledge and passion for treating and caring for patients through chiropractic care. Dr Thatcher has now worked at The Joint for over 11 years and adjusted thousands of people who he has grown friendships with. Dr Thatcher is well trained in treating new-born infants to the elderly providing and delivering gentle chiropractic care. His primary focus is to treat the patient and focus on healing. He has had great success in treating all sorts of ailments, from injuries, that include arms, and legs, sports injuries, to wellness and maintenance from everyday stresses. Dr Thatcher’s motto is “with God all things are possible”.
