Why Chiropractic Care Should Be A Regular Part of Your Life

I have suffered from scoliosis my whole life. It is a curvature of my spine that has caused me chronic pain in my neck and back since I was in junior high. One of my ongoing quests has been to find a treatment that will cure me of my pain forever, and believe me, I have tried everything. I realize now it is not just one thing that will help manage pain, but a combination of different treatments that need to be implemented on a regular basis. Chiropractic care is one of the treatments that has been working for me. It helps me with my pain, my range of movement and my overall mood. Here are a few reasons why you might want to consider making the chiropractor a regular part of you life.

Research shows that chiropractic treatment improves your mood.  It does this by improving your hormone balance, decreasing cortisol and increasing dopamine. So even if you’re not in physical pain, it could help with your mental outlook.

If you are someone who has a tendency to get sick, going to the chiropractor might be more beneficial than taking that cold medicine. A study done by New York’s Preventive Medicine Institute found that those who received treatment had a 200 percent stronger immune system than those who did not get chiropractic work done.

Chiropractic also has been shown to contribute to a good night’s sleep. However not only does it improve sleep habits, it also can create more energy during the day.

And of course it helps with pain management. If the spine is not aligned properly, or curved like mine, it can cause excruciating pain. By getting it regularly adjusted it improves and relieves the pain. This eventually leads to less hospital visits and less pain medicine. The fact that chiropractic is a drugless approach to pain management greatly reduces the risks of taking prescription drugs and also lowers pharmaceutical costs.

If you are looking for a natural, low-risk, drug-free way to reduce your pain, chiropractic may be worth looking into. If you are worried about the expenses of treatment, remember that chiropractic has been shown to actually be a cost-effective form of treatment. According to The Manga Report, people who used chiropractic care had lower health care costs than those who only relied on medical care. It’s also important to see if your current healthcare provider will cover your chiropractic expenses.
