How Kites Create Healthier Kids

Flying kites is fun for many children no matter the season. As long as there’s a little sunshine and plenty of wind, kids often enjoy getting to run around outdoors trying to get their kites to soar. Parents should allow their children to fly kites more often, as the pastime actually helps to create healthier kids because of all the benefits the activity provides.

They Provide the Opportunity for Exercise

Kites do not rise up in the air on the first try. It often takes a considerable amount of running and numerous attempts before kids can get their kites flying toward the sky. All of the running back and forth gives children the exercise they need to keep their bodies healthy and strong. Spending just a half-hour at a time attempting to fly kites is a great opportunity for exercise for kids.

They Promote Eye Health

As children watch their kites soar and look after the colorful creations to see which path they’re taking, the eyes get strengthened. Promoting eye health is a great benefit of kite flying. Kids looking up at the bright blue sky will experience improved eye muscle movement. Eye fatigue will cease.

They Reduce Stress

The act of watching a kite soar can be extremely relaxing for many children. Those with high tension or stress in their lives should especially be participating in the activity. Being outside in nature brings huge stress relief itself. Add the element of kite flying, and watching something beautiful soar across the sky, and the relief is even greater.

They Stretch the Neck

Too many kids sit around playing video games, looking at tablets, and watching TV. Some even have phones for regular use. These activities involve staring at a screen at one angle for too long, often resulting in the neck being bent forward and looking down. Flying a kite is a great alternative because it helps to stretch the neck in a different direction. Children who follow their kite must look up, extending their necks toward the sky. It stretches the neck and promotes flexibility, as well as helps prevent cervical spine disease.

Kites create healthier kids in a number of ways. The activity may seem so simple, but for children and adults alike, the pastime can have every positive effects on the mind and body. Spend the warm yet windy summer days to get outdoors and fly a kite to experience all the benefits it has to offer.
