Never Skimp on Water If You Want Good Health

By Tom Herrin

There are lots of things that people should cut back on if they want to improve their health.  Fats, sweets, high calorie foods, cabs, and plenty of others can make up that list.  One that is sometimes limited, though it should not be, is water.  It not only has the important job of cooling the body, but it also affects things such as the brain, physical performance, and body function.  Everyone is aware that they need water, some may not take in as much as they should.  It has more than a few functions and can do plenty of things to help the body work at its peak.

It Is Critical to Success on the Field

While it seems that all people know about the consequence of doing heavy activity in the heat, many fail to fully grasp the significance of having enough.  Perspiration is what many people are familiar with.  They know it cools the body and must be replaced.  When some people lose as little as two percent of their body's water weight, they may suffer from some minor issues.  Those who participate in athletics may lose as much as 10 percent.  This can result in change of body temperature, confusion, and general lack of motivation.  Fatigue can also be a major problem.  Plenty of water may help to maximize physical potential.

It May Help Manage Headaches

A lot of people suffer from headaches on a regular basis.  There may be a variety of reasons, but some may be related to a loss of water.  These individuals may have an almost unnoticeable water loss.  When this happens, headaches may occur.  Drinking more water may help to lessen the severity of headaches if they have them.  It may possibly help to avoid having them completely.  For these people, drinking more water is a small price to pay for better health.

It May Be an Easy Way to Manage Weight

While some may be lucky enough to avoid it, many of us have occasional problems with weight.  As a result, they may require constant adjustment of their diet.  There is little doubt that the best way to lose weight is to cut calories.  When we drink a good portion of water before we eat a meal, it may help us feel fuller.  This can help to curb our appetite so that when we eat, we may eat much less.  I try to drink as much water as possible from morning until night.  I know that the more I drink, the better I am able to limit by calorie intake.
