Who would have ever thought that something we use to enhance the flavor of food would be of any real benefit to our overall health? We all know that some foods are healthier for us than others, but we seldom think much about other things we take into our bodies. We use spices for all kinds of things and even refer to them as phrases such as some things being the spice of life. When we use terms such as this, we certainly acknowledge the impact that spices can have on us. Many people suffer from mental loss as they age or experience some kind of illness. There seems to be a connection between the use of sage and the improvement or preservation of mental abilities. Recent studies have found that age may help to support improvement in memory and function, particularly in people with Alzheimer's disease.
