Dr. Douglas Taylor joined The Joint Chiropractic network of healthcare professionals in 2014, and has been in the Clear Lake and League City area since 2017. He received a bachelor’s degree in human biology and a minor in chemistry from University of Houston; he received his doctorate from Texas Chiropractic College in 2012.

“The thing I like best about being in the chiropractic field is helping others while using only my hands,” Dr. Taylor says. “I love my patients.”

An effective communicator who can talk to his patients on many different levels, Dr. Taylor enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time, and even enjoys yard work to the delight of wife Liliana and their two sons and daughter.

A retired patrol officer with the Houston Police Department, Dr. Taylor knew that he had journeyed down the correct career path after performing his first chiropractic adjustment.

“When I saw the relief in the patient’s face after adjusting them, I knew I had found my calling,” he says. “I push myself to be all that I can, I strive to improve daily.”

And nothing is better than working in the community in which he resides.

“I live in the community,” Dr. Taylor says. “These people are not only my patients, but they are my neighbors. That’s the best thing about working at this clinic.

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Taylor says the one thing he has to have in his refrigerator is milk, for obvious reasons: “It does a body good,” he says.

Given an opportunity to assemble the perfect dinner party, Dr. Taylor would like to gather round the table with some of history’s great minds: theoretical physicists Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking and Michio Kaku, and astrophysicist Neil Tyson deGrasse Tyson. I would love to understand their thought process in breaking down the complex nature of their studies.

The coolest thing Dr. Taylor has done, he says, is “raising my children; nothing is cooler than helping to form a mind.”
