Out of the Box Ideas for Better Health - 4th Week

You’ve heard all of the typical advice. When it comes to physical health, you should eat right and exercise. Mental health? See a counselor and get a hobby. These, along with quite a bit of the other typical advice, are all excellent additions to your lifestyle. But, they’re not the only ways to stay healthy. There are so many things that you can do to protect your overall wellness, some of which are a ton of fun. For some slightly different and out of the box ideas for better health, check out these tips!

Go Scream

Don’t let pent-up stress and anger ruin your health. Instead, go find an outlet. You don’t literally have to go find a place to scream (though it can really help!), but you should find some way to release anger. Boxing, jumping, or anything that requires quick sudden bursts of energy are excellent for releasing tension. Or of course, find an empty location, and scream your anger out until you feel better.

Indulge in Sweets

OK, not every day all day long. But seriously, allow yourself a treat once in awhile. Unless you’re about to walk the runway of the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, it’s going to be fine. Take a bite of cake, drink the hot cocoa, have the ice cream cone. Indulging allows you to test the limits and break the rules without binging. It allows you to enjoy the process so that you’re less likely to give up. Don’t overdo it, but by all means, lick that chocolate frosting.

Be Spontaneous

This is another tip that you should do in moderation. Spontaneity helps you feel alive and excited. It boosts your mental well-being and is a great way to keep yourself feeling good about life and all that it has to offer. You may not be able to pick up and jet to Paris, but you can probably make it a day in Richmond. Or you might be able to take a quick weekend trip to that local resort that's so close you never considered it for a vacation. Keeping it fun and lively will help you stay healthy in every aspect, so when you have an idea, give in and have a little fun.

You can’t do any of these tips all day, every day. That’s not practical, and honestly it probably wouldn’t be healthy either. But, with moderation and purpose, these little out of the box tips can help you stay mentally, emotionally, and physically healthy for a lifetime of happiness.
