Exercises That Are Perfect for Fall Weather

The fall is finally here. The cool winds, the changing colors, the chilly nights; we love it! But let's not pretend that the fall is all sunshine and rainbows. While much of the fall is a ton of fun, some aspects are actually a little bit more difficult ... like exercise. It's hard to get up and get moving when the air has a chill. If you would like to keep your workout going through the fall, take a look at these great options that are perfect for this time of year.

Hiking

The fall weather is so beautiful. Even though a few nights might be on the chilly side, the days are glorious. Why not get outside and enjoy it while it lasts? If you like to walk, now is a great time to pick up hiking. It’s a bit more challenging, which is good, and you’ll also get to spend some time in the great outdoors. Find a local trail, get some supportive shoes, grab some friends, and get in your exercise while learning a new skill and having a blast.

Biking

Biking feels so good. It can ease tension in the joints, reduce overall pain, and improve mobility. And in the fall, biking feels exceptionally good. When you ride, you’ll have a cool wind in your face, but your body will be warm as your legs pump the pedals. Go for a spin around the block or find a nature trail and enjoy getting in some of the best shape of your life.

Running

Some people really love to run. Some people are a little more on the fence about it. If you’re in the second group, now is a great time to jump on the bandwagon. Running in the fall feels so good. The nights are cool and the wind is crisp, which means you’re less likely to get overheated. Now is also the time of year with a ton of races available. Sign up for a 5K, and then work toward this goal. The race, the weather, the buildup to the holiday season … it’s the perfect time to get some shoes and go for a jog.
