Spread the Love With a Care Package
By Donna Stark
If your loved ones have been separated from you over the past year, there may not be a better time than now to head on out and deliver a care package to them! Those boxes, baskets, or bags filled with the things that showcase your love will put a smile on anyone's face, but it's not always as easy as it seems to put one together. Sometimes, it can be difficult to decide on what to include. If you want to cheer somebody up and aren't sure where to start, take a look at the following ideas. They may be just enough to get your creative juices flowing.
For the Homebody
If your recipient prefers to stay in as opposed to going out, a care package full of items that will encourage a cozy night on the couch is perfect! Fill this gift with things that will help make a routine night at home a little extra special. You could give them a copy of a movie they have been wanting to see, gourmet hot chocolate, flavored popcorn, a plush throw or bathrobe, and some fuzzy slippers.
For the Fun Family
Nothing screams family fun as much as game night does, so if your recipient is actually a family, gift them a package of games. From cards to puzzles to board games, the options are endless ... just make sure you are delivering age-appropriate fun. You can even include some of their favorite snacks and beverages in this package.
For the College Student
Is your loved one away at college, stressing over homework, quizzes, and tests? If so, why not send a care package filled with items that will not only reduce their anxiety, but also deliver some of the local treats they miss so much? From aromatherapy gifts to face masks to baked goods to pictures colored by their younger siblings, special items like these will help them get through the remainder of the semester.
For the Sick One
Knowing your loved one is not feeling well and not being able to care for them is heartbreaking, but that doesn't mean you can't have a role in their recovery. Fill this care package up with products that will help them feel better! Add things like medicine, tissues, magazines, a cozy blanket, teas, and some nutrient-rich snacks or food. If you like to cook, send along a mason jar filled with your famous homemade chicken noodle soup too!
Making a Difference
Go ahead and make a difference in the life of a loved one today. Sending a care package or delivering one personally to your recipient's doorstep is a beautiful way to show how much you care and to let a person know they are not alone!
