Dr. Kalm was born and raised in Santiago, Chile. He came to the US in pursuit of a dream to play rugby professionally which he was fortunate to accomplish. After a serious neck injury, Dr. Kalm was inspired by a chiropractor to pursue chiropractic and couldn’t be happier doing what he does now.
Believing that every patient is unique, presenting with their own challenges and requiring an individual approach, Dr. Kalm enjoys the challenge of finding the right approach for each patient and helping them unlock their ability to heal through adjustment and education, seeing the joy of people being able to get back to doing the things they enjoy without medications or surgeries.
Dr. Kalm briefly practiced in Chile after 14 years of not living there, then moved back to STL to be close to my wife’s family and continue to grow as a chiropractor and family. He and his wife have a spicy 2-year-old daughter and another due in February 2026!
Along with family time, Dr. Kalm stays active, hunting, playing sports like pickleball, soccer, Padel tenis, and working out.
One of Dr. Kalm's achievements was winning a D1 National championship in rugby. It was the very last chance to win a ring for him and several of his teammates. Even though the cards were stacked against them, they never stopped believing and fighting. Reaching that pinnacle confirmed the reason why he chose the less-traveled path, risking everything to follow his dreams.

Dr. Ortmann grew up in Festus, Missouri. He injured himself riding a motorcycle when he was 13 and ended up seeing a chiropractor when he was 15. He liked how the doctor treated his injury, as it made sense from a mechanical point of view. From that point on, Dr. Ortmann wanted to become a chiropractor.
After graduating from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1995, Dr. Ortmann has practiced ever since, including four years in Spokane, Washington. He recalls his anatomy teacher in chiropractic college, when referring to patient care, saying that “Many times the most complex problems have the simplest solutions,” and he keeps that in mind when diagnosing and putting together a treatment plan for his patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Ortmann met his wife on a blind date and has been married for 29 years. His wife is an audiologist who practices in Kirkwood. They have 4 adult children, 2 boys and 2 girls. He had the opportunity to deliver their third child, which was one of the most memorable experiences of his life!
He also enjoys fishing, traveling, a glass of bourbon and a cigar. Sometimes all at the same time!

You can tell that she truly cares about each patient. I first went in about a year ago because I had an awful neck pain that wouldn't go away and it helped so much! All were closed for the holidays for a couple weeks, but I needed to be seen that day. So I called The Joint and Kelly was sooooo sweet and insisted I come over right away. I saw Dr. Emad and he helped so much I signed up for the Wellness Plan! With the plan, this costs much less per visit than the chiropractor I used to see that was in my insurance network. Plus, no appointment needed, I just show up anytime! I’ve gone twice a week since I found them and I’ve never waited to be seen. Dr. Lance and Dr. Holden were also great! They’re always friendly, remember my and my baby’s name (who always comes with me), and I’m in and out in no time. Super convenient, great value, crazy friendly!

Dr. Beau is wonderful and very open to trying different things to get desired results/relief. Very easy to pop in and I've done so at several different times of the day and different days. I was specifically told my card would be charged $69. There was never any mention of still having a separate charge for the initial visit Her response was, well I'm sure you got a few free visits this month. I will use my appointments as there is no refund. I will not be renewing a membership with them nor will I recommend them.

5 5 1I have been going to the Joint Sunset Hills for over 2 years. When I first started I couldn't turn my head to the right and couldn't lay on my right side. Now after 2 years of weekly adjustments I am able to do both with virtually no pain. (99% pain free). Also, anytime I have a "pulled"/ strained muscle or pinched nerve, I will get an adjustment and within 1 day - the muscle issue gets fully resolved.
