Meet The Doctors
With 16 years of patient centered care, Dr. Allen enjoys sharing her passion of improving quality of life. Dr. Allen obtained her Doctorate degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic in June 2016.
She started her healthcare journey while working as a nursing assistant at Magnolia's assisted living/Memory care facility. While working there, she studied at North Greenville University where she received her Bachelors of Science with a focal point in clinical biology. During this time frame, she was afforded an opportunity to go to The University of West Georgia (UWG) to begin research on aquaporin and its relationship to Alzheimer's and Dementia. After completing her studies, Dr. Allen worked for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in their Behavioral Health nursing department. While serving in these roles, Dr. Allen worked intricately with patients to observe their mental and physical conditions to meet their needs for an improved quality of life. She was determined to become a doctor and the philosophy of chiropractic aligned with that determination.
She has been employed with The Joint Chiropractic since 2016. Dr. Allen has served various cities of the Upstate of South and North Carolina. With the majority of her years dedicated to the city of Charlotte and now Gastonia, NC. She has serviced this area since early 2018. She comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Getting to know Dr. Allen:
She is from SC. She is #4 of 5 children born to her parents. She is married to the love of her life of 12 years. She has a 14 yr old son. She loves music and bringing smiles to the lives of others. Patients have inspired a new interest in planting/gardening. Since starting to practice she has grown a special bond with the pediatric population; all interesting, since most of her work started with the adult/geriatric population.
Why Chiropractic?
Dr. Allen wasn't aware of the full benefit of chiropractic care. It wasn't until a co-worker shared the contact information for another chiropractor that she learned of its importance. Dr. Allen knew that she was destined to become a doctor; she just hoped to see the world using less medication. After being adjusted for a 6 month period, and then returning to her medical doctor, she noticed significant changes in the frequency and duration of her headaches. Daily headaches that she had suffered with for 13 long years. During this same visit with her MD, Dr. Allen was told that her blood pressure levels had normalized. This proved particularly interesting because she has a strong family history of hypertension (increase in blood pressure). In a nutshell, chiropractic changed her life and now she loves to help educate patients and their families so that chiropractic can also change their lives.

Dr. Andrew Cornejo is originally from Freeport, NY but has been in the South for 15 years. After graduating from USC-Aiken with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science, he completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic. He loves helping people of all ages achieve optimal health. Dr. Cornejo is national board certified in Physiotherapy, certified in the Thompson Technique, and uses a variety of techniques based on the patients’ specific needs.
When Dr. Andrew is not serving the community, he enjoys working out, traveling, trying new restaurants, hiking, and cheering on the NY Mets and Clemson Tigers.
