Meet The Doctors
Dr. James Petersen was born and raised in Utah and came to chiropractic after an injury as a senior in high school.
He graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas Texas in 2010. He and his wife were inspired to move their family to Alaska in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the people and the area.
When they're not enjoying their work in The Joint, they love spending time with their 7 children (4 girls and 3 boys ranging in age from 8-19), serving in their church, and all things outdoors, including their Bernadoodle named Bear.
Dr. Petersen is both a practitioner and patient of chiropractic and is consistent about getting his weekly adjustment. He believes strongly in recommending the same excellent care to his family and his patients and is passionate about routine preventative chiropractic.
Raised in South Central Alaska, Dr Ken has lived in Palmer, Wasilla, Kenai, and Anchorage where he graduated from East Anchorage High School. The exposure to new places and people unleashed a love to travel, a gift of chatting easily with new acquaintances and a talent for languages. He speaks both Spanish and Portuguese having lived in Peru and Portugal.
Like most Alaskans, he enjoys the long days of summer hiking trails in the Chugach range, drives to Seward or other points of interest, the vivid sunsets over Turnagain Arm.
Dr. Ken’s initial exposure to chiropractic was due to a construction site accident. Further exposure lead to his pursuing his doctorate. While at Palmer College of Chiropractic, he had the opportunity to participate in a “clinic abroad” program for two weeks in India. It was a direct exposure to the challenges and joys of helping underserved people. Due to this experience, his focus has centered on educating his patients along with treating them. It is a dedication his patients appreciate and value.
Dr. Ken has practiced in Washington and Illinois. Most recently he completed 5 years working with the people of Lima, Peru, and outlying areas. He is glad to be back home and looks forward to providing quality chiropractic care to his fellow Alaskans.
Dr. Levi Baron grew up in various small-town communities in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Ohio. No matter which Air Force Base his family was stationed at, he found places to enjoy his favorite pastimes of hunting and fishing. While studying for his undergraduate degree at MSMU, he met his wife Nicole who was pursuing the same major of study. He also fell in love with the function of the human body as a whole, so much so that he changed his major from Pre-Dental to Pre-Chiropractic. After graduating, he went to Minneapolis and began his Chiropractic education at Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU). While studying at NWSHU, Dr. Baron truly came to appreciate how efficient and symbiotic the human body really is.
It had always been Dr. Baron's dream to live and practice in Alaska. He spent a year practicing in Wasilla and the last 5 years serving the South Anchorage community. Dr. Baron enjoys hiking, fishing, and exploring what Alaska has to offer.
Dr. Baron's treasured moments are seeing people healed while recovering the functions and activities they had lost.
Dr. Morgan Towslee (goes by Dr. Morgan) was born and raised in a small town in Washington state. She’s always had a love for health and fitness and earned a Kinesiology degree at Washington State University (Go Cougs!) before attending and graduating magna cum laude from Life Chiropractic College West in the San Francisco area in 2018. She practiced in busy downtown Seattle for 5 years until having her son. Dr. Morgan’s husband is from Alaska, and when they brought their baby boy there to visit, it became clear to them that Alaska is where he should grow up! She is so excited to serve the Anchorage and Wasilla communities and experience the beauty of Alaska year round.
Dr. Morgan finds joy and passion in providing chiropractic care to her community, and truly feels it is her calling and what she is meant to do. She knows that chiropractic care is essential in helping people thrive and be the best versions of themselves. She has a special passion for prenatal and postpartum care, and has been Webster certified since 2020. Chiropractic care is the foundation of health and wellness for Dr. Morgan and her family, she gets adjusted at least once per week and checks her husband, son, and other family members regularly. When she isn't providing chiropractic care, she loves spending time with her family, working out, fishing in Kenai, snowboarding, playing volleyball and jump roping, and taking short trips to Washington to see family and friends there.
