By Donna Stark
There are a lot of reasons why you should incorporate more fiber into your diet, but let's look at the one reason that brings the most fun ... your upcoming adventures! With several more weeks of summer ahead and fall activities right around the corner, you will want to fuel these adventures with something delicious and nutritious. You will also want to keep your body full and satisfied while doing so, and fiber is the way to do that! Take a look at a few of the ways you can start your mornings with a fiber-filled breakfast so you can enjoy every last activity you have planned.
Drink It
Is the world of morning smoothies new to you? If it is, don't worry! Making smoothies is easier than you think and a simple way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet. And that's good news if you are trying to consume more fiber. Pears, strawberries, avocadoes, bananas, carrots, apples, oats, and chia seeds are some great options to add to your smoothie if you want to increase your intake of fiber.
Spread It
There's a good reason why avocado toast has made it onto the menus of restaurants worldwide. In addition to being absolutely delicious, it is also a quick and easy way to fill up on fiber. Spread some mashed avocado on your wheat toast in the morning, sprinkle on some chia seeds, and top it with an egg for an extra punch of protein. You won't believe how good it can taste!
Overnight It
If you love oatmeal, you are sure to love overnight oats. Oats are an excellent source of fiber and are great for the health of your heart, but overnight oats are extra special because they will save you a ton of time in the morning. And when you have lots of adventures to get to, that can be a major help in your day. Just look online for recipes, prep the night before, pack them into a grab-and-go container, and have fun!
Roll It
Do you love everything about breakfast? If so, get cooking and roll it all together! Grab a whole wheat tortilla and fill it up with scrambled eggs, black beans, diced sweet potatoes, avocado, mushrooms, and bell peppers for an amazing breakfast burrito that will keep you feeling full and satisfied until it is time to eat again.
Good Health and Full Bellies With Fiber
The benefits of fiber don't stop with your full belly. Fiber also helps you maintain a healthy weight while reducing the risk of certain cancers and heart disease. So go ahead and try some fiber-filled breakfasts. Your health and upcoming adventures will be positively impacted by doing so!
