The Light at the End of the Tunnel May Be Good Health
By Tom Herrin
Most people are searching for some way to improve their health. It doesn’t have to be with one of those expensive programs or some heavy duty workout. It doesn’t even have to mean pushing away from the table and going on a strict diet. Many times the simple things are the best. Far too many people get far too little sunshine. It is a critical part of good health. The sun is an important component of life. We all know that plants require it for growth, it is essential for the very nutrients that provide the food we eat. Our bodies absorb things provided by the sun and utilize them for smooth operating.
It Can Help Prevent Certain Cancers
While we are well aware of the risks of certain kinds of cancers such as skin cancers from excessive UV exposure, there are also pretty significant benefits that protect from some other cancers. Some studies have shown that sunshine may reduce the number of deaths from breast and colon cancers. People with several other kinds of cancers seemed to show similar responses.
Some Pain May Be Reduced
Many people have discovered the benefits the sunshine can offer when dealing with pain. The pain and stiffness associated with muscles can be soothed quite effectively by the sun. Arthritis pain has been alleviated with some success by the sunshine. I have experienced some pretty good easing of muscle and joint pain by spending time sitting or lying in the sun. The pain relief qualities of sunshine may be relatively untapped.
Skin And Bones May Be Improved
Using the sun for treatment of some skin problems is a simple treatment that has been used for quite a long time. The Vitamin D available from the sun is also known to help build stronger bones. It is unfortunate that many people who could benefit most from such exposure stay shut in away from the sun. It can become a vicious circle of sorts when people suffer from problems with their bones and continue to deny themselves the simple opportunity for improvement by getting more sunshine. If you are looking for something that provides several health benefits with very little effort or expense, try getting more sunshine. It could really seem like the light at the end of the tunnel.
