Dr. George Campbell became part of The Joint Chiropractic family of local healthcare providers in 2019 when he joined the East Coral Springs clinic location. A graduate of D’Youville College in Buffalo, N.Y., he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology along with his doctorate of chiropractic.
“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is seeing how my athletic and psychology background can truly make an impact in people’s lives,” he says. “The other thing I love is seeing the amount of passion and care that my peers have for their patients. Caring is so important.“
Dr. Campbell worked previously in his hometown Pittsburgh, Pa., as well as Hampton, N.H.; Buffalo, N.Y.; and Knoxville, Tenn.
When he can, he enjoys spending time with his son, traveling, mountain biking, competing in endurance events, and learning new sports. He also likes traveling, cooking, and experiencing new foods and restaurants.
Dr. Campbell was a certified personal trainer and an owner/operator of fitness centers in Boston and Pittsburgh. “One unfortunate day, I was involved in an auto accident that truly changed my life forever,” he says. “I went from running triathlons to not being able to walk down a flight of stairs. I experienced many different forms of care in my recovery, but what truly made a difference was chiropractic.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Campbell loves tacos, and makes sure that “every day is taco Tuesday” in his household. If he could bring together any people from history for the dinner party of his dreams, Dr. Campbell would love to bring together Ray Kroc, Peter Dukes, and Oprah Winfey.
“Kroc was behind the McDonald’s empire but he didn’t do it by building the best burger, but using real estate upon which the restaurant sits is the primary business,” he says. “Peter Dukes is the creator of the pumpkin spice latte and I’m very curious to know what inspired him. It would be interesting to talk to Oprah about how she is perceived as an icon and how she deals with the love and respect for her.”
When it comes to the most gratifying experiences of his life, Dr. Campbell says that winning a triathlon ranks at the top. “The reason for this is because of how much self-dedication, training, self-discipline, and focus it took to accomplish such a feat,” he says. “For me, it was more psychological, and the reward was tremendous. Ultimately, this gave me the satisfaction of what hard work and dedication can bring when you commit to something.”
Dr. Layda Santiago became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 when she began serving residents in the Coral Springs area, where she continues doing the work she finds so fulfilling.
“My favorite thing about being in the chiropractic field is to surprise people like I was when I discovered chiropractic for the first time in my life,” she says. “I want to educate patients to show how they can improve their quality of life. I want to promote a less invasive healthcare system and I will do that by making a real connection, building trust, and giving patients hope. I enjoy building relationships and working with people and being the tool that helps them meet their healthcare goals and needs.”
Dr. Santiago was raised in Puerto Rico and enjoys spending time with her daughters, going to the beach, traveling, and returning to the island to visit family. As well, she likes music, karaoke, and exercise. She received her doctorate from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Boiling Springs, S.C., after earning a bachelor’s degree in biology at university in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and an associate degree in chemical engineering.
Her calling as a chiropractor was born while working at a pharmaceutical company. “I met excellent people, I made friends, and even family,” Dr. Santiago says. “I felt good working there but I knew it was not what I wanted in my life. I was always interested in the field of health and wanted to continue my studies. In this company, I met Carolina Otero, a Sherman College student at the time, and she invited me to attend the Sherman Showcase. I was impressed by the staff, the way they cared about the students, all the help and initiatives, etc. I know that my decision was the best, although it was not easy, but I did it for myself and my daughters.
“I’m looking forward to giving the best of myself as a person, coworker and doctor. I love being part of The Joint family and the opportunity to provide affordable chiropractic care to all people.”

Dr. Santiago always keeps evaporated milk on hand at home. “I love coffee with evaporated milk,” she says. “My great grandmother used to prepare it for us.”
If she could bring together any four people from history together for her ideal dinner party, she would include comedic hosts Jimmy Fallon and Steve Harvey, and actors Kevin Hart and Steve Carell. “I love to have a good time with people,” she says. “Laughter is an important thing to me. It makes me happy and if I’m happy, I can make other people happy.”
A survivor of Hurricane Maria, Dr. Santiago says the response to the aftermath was the most amazing thing she has seen. “We were without power for months, but without social media people began to interact with each other; kids played outside, family reunions became more common, and it was amazing to see the way people helped each other,” she says. “How did it impact the way I look at things? The way the world is changing with technology, it showed how social media helped us interact with those who are far away, but it affected our relationships with those closest to us.”
