Build a Stronger Body With These Foods
By Genevieve Cunningham
A lot of people give little thought to the strength of their bodies. We think a lot about weight loss and definition, but we never equate that to physical strength. Why? Strength is what makes weight loss and muscle definition possible! It also helps us with balance and coordination, and can make us feel especially powerful in our own skin. But how do we build strength? Along with forming a good strength training routine, it's also important to eat the right foods. If you're looking to improve your strength, take a look at these foods to add to your menu today.
Eggs
Eggs are one of the more famous foods for strength. We see people in movies or in the fitness world consuming eggs for muscle health. They contain blasts of protein as well as healthy fats. When we eat eggs, we're literally fueling the muscles. The good part about eggs is that they're easy to use. Eat them for breakfast. Eat them at snack time. Eat them for dinner. Eat them almost any way you like if strength is your ultimate goal.
Bone Broth
Bone broth is relatively new to the health world. Or perhaps it's just new to the masses. Bone broth contains multiple nutrients that are good for the body and overall health, but one of the most beneficial is collagen. Collagen helps with muscle health, ligament and tendon health, and of course, bone health. Collagen may not directly build strength, but it helps with flexibility and overall health so that you can build strength through your exercise routine.
Protein Powder
It's too obvious, right? Its obvious, but it works. Protein powder is great for feeding the muscles and building strength. Add powder to a morning smoothie, a pre- or post-workout drink, or a snack. Most who use protein powder do so in a scheduled fashion. This helps your body and muscles get into a rhythm and helps them become more efficient at using the fuel you're giving them.
It's important to build strong muscles. Muscles help us with balance, stability, and the fat burning process. Don't neglect strength training in your workout routine, and don't neglect these foods in your menu. With the right foods, you can build the body and the strength to keep you moving in the right direction.
